Hey lady! Can I tell you something?

You don’t have to know what to wear or how to pose before booking maternity pictures. You don’t even have to feel completely comfortable in front of the camera. Most women don’t.

I know it can feel like everyone else naturally knows what to do because that’s what you see in the finished photos. But what you don’t see is me adjusting the dress, fixing hands, moving hair, and talking her through every pose.

She didn’t walk in knowing exactly what to do. We figured it out together.

So if you’ve been putting off maternity photos because you don’t feel ready, don’t let that be the reason. You don’t have to have it all figured out.

That’s what I’m here for.

Can we talk about something for a minute?

Because I hear this from women all the time…

“I want maternity pictures, but I just don’t feel like myself right now.”

Girl, I get it.

Your body is changing by the minute. Things fit differently. Things sit differently. You’re tired. You might be swollen. And some days you look in the mirror and think…who even is this person?

And then somebody wants you to put on a dress and stand in front of a camera?

Yeah. I get why that can feel like a lot.

But here’s what I want you to know:

You don’t have to walk into my studio already feeling confident.

You don’t have to know your angles.

You don’t have to know how to pose.

And you definitely don’t have to feel “photogenic.”

That’s my job.

We’re going to find outfits you feel good in. I’m going to guide you through every little thing. And we’re going to create images that let you see yourself differently.

Because you don’t need to feel photogenic to be photographed beautifully.

And maybe right now you don’t quite recognize the woman you see in the mirror.

But one day, you may look at these photographs and think…

“Wow. Look at her. She was becoming somebody’s mama.”

You do NOT need to figure out your maternity photos before you come to me.

You don’t need to go searching for the perfect dress.

You don’t need to know what colors look best, how you want to be photographed, or what to do with your hands. (Seriously. Nobody knows what to do with their hands. 😂)

And you definitely don’t need to show up already feeling like some glowing, effortlessly confident pregnant goddess.

That’s what I’m here for.

We’ll have a dress fitting. We’ll choose your wardrobe together. Hair and makeup are taken care of. I’ll design your session around YOU and guide you through every single pose.

And when your images are ready, I’m still right there with you, helping you choose your favorites and decide how you want to enjoy them in your home.

Because girlfriend… you are already growing an entire human.

You have enough to figure out.

This is exactly the moment that deserves to be documented. Not just with a phone photo. With art. The kind you hang on your wall. The kind your child finds one day and sees just how wanted they were before they ever took their first breath.

I photograph moms like you every day in Charlotte. Women who worked hard to get here and deserve every bit of this moment to be celebrated.

Charlotte expecting moms are always telling me “I don’t know how to pose”, “My nose is spreading all over my face”, “I’m not photogenic” and the list goes on!

But then comes the reveal and she sees her portraits for the first time…it gets quiet because she’s finally seeing what everyone else has been seeing her entire pregnancy, she’s BEAUTIFUL!!!

She finally sees herself but not as someone who is uncomfortable and over pregnancy, but as someone becoming a mother and doing it while looking beautiful.

This work matters to me because so many women spend pregnancy disconnected from themselves.

This experience is not about pretending pregnancy feels perfect (because it doesn’t always). It’s about reminding women they are still worthy of being seen in the middle of change.

Another year. Another chance to do it better than I did before.

I used to think birthdays were just about celebrating.
Now I understand they’re about taking inventory.

What did I learn
What did I let go of
Who did I step into

Grateful for every lesson, every closed door, every moment that forced me to grow into the woman I am today.

I don’t take it lightly that I’m still here. Still building. Still stepping into who I know I’m called to be.

Grateful God saw fit to give me another year to get it right.

This next chapter is different. I can feel it.

Moving with intention. Protecting my peace. Raising my standards.
