ngl… I went a little crazy with the handheld flash shots at the reception, but I was having WAY too much fun 🤪

Give me country club weddings, editorial details, candlelight, and pretty tablescapes and suddenly I forget how to act.

Let me tell you how hard I struggled not to include 47 more detail photos in this post because I genuinely loved every part of this design.

Also ran into another photog friend during this session and I feel like she can personally confirm the amount of people I later removed from this bridge 🥴

A little wedding vendor insight from a photographer 🤍

You do NOT need to have every detail of your wedding figured out before reaching out to photographers, planners, venues, florists, etc. Truly. Most of us are happy to help guide you through the process.

But your inquiry form matters more than you think.

The information you share helps vendors understand:
• your vision
• your priorities
• your personalities
• your communication style
• and how to best serve you throughout the experience

And listen… price shopping is okay. Reaching out to multiple vendors is normal. Not being ready to book yet is okay too.

You do not need to write a novel.

But taking a minute to share a little about yourselves, your wedding plans, or what drew you to someone’s work goes a LONG way in helping vendors create a more personalized experience for you 🤍

Wedding photography is personal. Your photographer is walking through one of the biggest days of your life beside you. Connection and communication help create the best experience possible from the very beginning.

Someone asked me this week if I had to choose between spring/early summer weddings or fall weddings as my favorite to photograph… and honestly? I still don’t have an answer.

I love the softness and color of spring and summer... the wildflowers, the green fields, the way everything feels alive and green again. But then fall shows up with the moodier tones, the warmth, the contrast, the golden light, and suddenly I’m obsessed all over again. Don't even get me started on Asheville weddings in the fall.... uhhh helloooo?! I love.

How am I supposed to choose between dreamy garden-party energy and cinematic autumn romance??

One thing I do know: no matter what season, I’m always chasing photos that feel honest, emotional, and like you actually got to experience your wedding day instead of performing your way through it 🤍

FINALLY getting to post some sessions I delivered ages ago (literally in the dead of winter), but these are toooo good to not see the light of day!

❄️ Flashback to snowmeggadon 2026 ❄️

Olivia texted me before this session like, “is it crazy that I still want to shoot outside?”
…ma’am you are extremely pregnant and Charlotte is about to shut down over snow, so yes. A little. Respectfully. But I’m so there in my giant puffer ☃️

And I’m so glad we did!

This was right before “snowmageddon” hit and the city started closing everything early (including the park we were in 🫠), and somehow we managed to sneak this session in just in time. No snow in the photos, but chaos looming in the background. Very on brand.

Total full circle moment because I shot their engagement, their wedding, and now their maternity… and I just photographed their newborn session too 🥹

Watching your people turn into parents will never not be a little surreal in the best way.

Anyway, moral of the story: trust the slightly unhinged decision. Sometimes it gives you magic.

things I will never do as a photographer: be annoyed when you ask for photos that maintain your privacy 🤍

it’s important to me to respect the wishes of my clients and I never want anyone to feel like they’re a burden when asking for photos to either a) not be shared online or b) photos they can post without putting their childs image online

A few weeks ago, Kalon reached out and said he was planning to propose to his girlfriend, Jenny — the girl he met playing hockey, the girl he knew was it. We quietly planned everything over Instagram, landed on Freedom Park, and crossed our fingers that the very publicized “they’re bringing down Jim Cantore” ice storm wouldn’t ruin the surprise.

The morning of, he told her to dress up for a “fancy brunch”. Her friends hyped her up, helped her pick an outfit, and played their part perfectly. A quick detour (or so she thought) turned into a walk across the bridge… and then the question.
She said yes!!🥂

It was freezing, emotions were high, champagne was popped, and January decided to show off — honestly, the best way to start 2026.

Forever obsessed with proposal days like this.
