They walk out your door in August still your baby and somehow return for Thanksgiving break a new version of themselves. A little taller, a little braver. Not quite child, not quite adult, hovering in that beautiful in-between. They come home and settle back into the nest like it’s muscle memory. It feels safe again. Familiar again. But we know this moment is fleeting. Their restless wings and curious minds will soon lift them back into the world. So for now…we linger in the warmth while it’s here. 🪺🐦
As I plan for the Class of 2026, I reflect on of the Class of 2025. Those bright faces I spent an afternoon with, capturing the sliver of time between child and adult when everything shifts. If we blink, we miss it. If I photographed these children again, it wouldn’t be the same. They have been changed. They’re becoming and that growth is reflected in their face. 💫
I think I love Senior sessions so much because it is one of the rare life moments that all that has been collides with the anticipation of all that will be. I hope each of these unique souls are returning home this Thanksgiving with stories and experiences to share about the joys, trials and triumphs of ‘becoming’. 🪴🌳
Grateful to my clients for inviting me into their lives. My work is about storytelling, as much as it is about photography. It’s an honor to carry and capture your stories. 📸📖🧡
Grateful and reflective this Thanksgiving season.
