The West Virginia Department of Human Services (DoHS), Bureau for Family Assistance (BFA), will implement federally mandated changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) policy for Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents (ABAWD), effective November 1, 2025. These changes are required under federal law H.R.1 (One Big Beautiful Bill) and ensure the state remains compliant with national SNAP guidelines.

⚠️ These little babies need your help with supplies!

They are part of 32 puppies in our parvo ward receiving treatment 😭🫠 they are fighting for their lives, and we're doing everything we can to save them ❤️‍🩹

Which means we are using supplies FAST in just this area alone, much less all the other animals in the shelter! 🥺

Most needed supplies right now:
- Purina Puppy Chow
- Purina Kitten Chow
- Paper Towels
- Wet food, any kind
- Treats, any kind

Also very much appreciated are:
- blankets, linens of any kind
- toys, any kind
- cat litter, any brand

Things we're full and can't hold more on (right now, anyway - what a blessing that is to say!):
- pillows
- bleach
- newspaper

One person doesn't need to do it all, but we're hoping if everyone can contribute in some way we will be in good shape to care for our shelter babies! ❤️

Please spread the word for this lost cat. Goose was LOST on October 22, 2025 in Elkins, WV 26241 near Scenic Ridge Rd Elkins, WV 26241 United States

Message from Owner: 10/23/2025 my husband was transporting my cat Goose to our new and somehow he got out of the vehicle on the road a couple miles out past Smoke on the Water near the construction portion of that road in Elkins. He had on the collar and tag. His collar has a QR code with my information attached when scanned. He is very friendly but likely very scared and possibly injured! He is neutered and microchipped. 💔Please please contact me if you see him!
