Day Three.
Women in Charleston’s music scene came together to celebrate the release of Enemy Magazine’s “Girls to the Front” issue. It was such an incredible night, and I’m really happy to be documenting my journey as an artist through all of this.
Finding the story arc for this vlog was honestly harder than I expected - it was challenging trying to find what I wanted to tell while also highlighting the amazing artists and people around me. It’s been pushing me creatively in a completely different way than photography does.
Another challenge was that this vlog felt a lot more vulnerable than posting photography usually does. I’m used to hiding behind the camera and letting the visuals speak for themselves - so attaching my own perspective and experience to something felt uncomfortable at times.
I also kept wanting to micro-adjust every little detail and convince myself it still wasn’t good enough to share.
But I’m tired of letting perfectionism and “what ifs” stop me from posting the things I care about. I want to look back in five years and be glad I followed this creative instinct instead of overthinking it into oblivion haha ✨
