This weekend I had one of those moments of clarity... Sometimes, I still can’t believe we live here. It’s kind of crazy to think that I moved here as an 18 year old and that that set the trajectory for the rest of our lives. But I remember when I graduated from South Carolina in 2016 and drove back to California, I watched as the whole country just slowly turned brown all around me.

The GREEN of this state is something that always makes me feel like, “Wow, I can finally breathe again.” Even though I grew up in southern California and congestion, dry heat, and traffic should feel like a normal pace of life to me, I just can’t do it. Of course, I miss the ocean and fishing on Catalina and going to SanO with our friends every weekend... there was a lot about California that we’ll never find anywhere else. But now almost 4 years in, I’m still so glad I’m back in the Palmetto state.

What is your favorite piece of advice you have ever gotten that you have actually taken?! Business, life, marriage…anything! I love ADVICE. Give me the shortcut. Tell me your hack for more freedom, more joy, more time!

I am so thrilled by how much you all loved this project by - your messages about it have been really encouraging!

I’m not surprised that you like it but I dont usually get this much engagement on posts of my work.

I shot this for Erin when I was HEAVILY pregnant and had to bring my husband along to carry the lights and equipment. At one point, I just sat down on the sofa and ate a yogurt - like I physically couldn’t go on. But I kept pushing and I was a little anxious that the photos would turn out bad somehow. I remember driving up to the shoot being worried that Erin would be able to see my fatigue through the photos but I am so thankful, she was so encouraging to me that day - as a mom, as a business owner, as a creative. I’m so proud of these photos but more than proud, I’m grateful. Grateful for the opportunity to shoot for someone as kind and as talented as Erin, grateful for my body to perform multitudes from shooting to growing life to laughing to eating to cuddling, grateful for my job and all it affords me.

Thank you for loving this project as much as I have loved it. It really put something back together in me.
