We came to the beach expecting seashells… and found an entire sea shell tree 🐚🌊✨

Tucked along the shore at Edisto was one of the coolest little surprises — a tree adorned with shells, swaying in the ocean breeze like a piece of coastal magic. Moments like these are why we love wandering without a plan… you never know what hidden gems you’ll stumble upon 💙

At the heart of downtown Asheboro, we came one of those places that instantly makes you want to stay awhile 🍻✨

🍻 Four Saints Brewing Company Four Saints Brewing | Asheboro Brewery

When in Asheboro, make time for a stop at Four Saints Brewing Company — a local craft brewery with laid-back vibes, a welcoming taproom, and locally brewed beers. From crisp lagers and hazy IPAs to seasonal brews and creative flavors, there’s something for everyone to try.

The brewery first opened in 2015 and has become a favorite gathering spot for both locals and visitors alike.

Bonus: they’re also famous for events like trivia nights, live music, food trucks, and seasonal gatherings!

We love finding places that feel authentically local, and this one definitely earned a spot on our “would absolutely come back” list 🤍 Visit the Heart of NC

There’s something so magical about slowing down for an afternoon at Middleton Place 🌿✨

Nestled just outside Charleston, this historic treasure feels like stepping into another world — where moss-draped oaks, quiet pathways, and blooming gardens invite you to wander a little slower and stay a little longer.

Around every turn there was something beautiful — hidden garden paths, reflecting ponds, butterflies dancing through the blooms, and the most breathtaking views along the Ashley River.

When you visit, be sure to give yourself time to stroll the gardens, explore the historic house & grounds, and just enjoy the stillness of it all. It’s the kind of place that reminds you beauty doesn’t have to be rushed.

Whether you’re visiting Charleston for the weekend or looking for a dreamy local day trip, Middleton Place is one of those places that feels timeless.

✨ Stepping back in time at one of North Carolina’s hidden gems… ✨

📍 Pisgah Covered Bridge in Asheboro, North Carolina Heart of North Carolina Visitors Bureau

There’s something undeniably magical about discovering places that feel untouched by time, and visiting the historic Pisgah Covered Bridge felt exactly like that. Tucked away among towering trees and peaceful countryside views, this charming bridge instantly transported us to a simpler era.

Built in 1911, by J. J. Welch at a cost of just $40. In August of 2003, the bridge was washed away by a flood, but was rebuilt the next year using much of the original materials that were retrieved by local area volunteers. The restoration was able to salvage about 90 percent of the materials from the original structure.

If you love charming backroads, historic places, and peaceful nature spots, this one deserves a spot on your North Carolina bucket list. 🤍

Spent the day getting a little lost in the backroads of Seagrove, NC 🏺✨

Known as the pottery capital of the US, Seagrove NC is filled with working studios where every piece tells a story and every stop is a little different.

We spent the day discovering beautiful handmade pottery, meeting talented artists, and taking our time exploring the charm of this creative little corner of NC. Seagrove is home to a centuries-old pottery tradition and dozens of working studios along the famous Pottery Highway.

Our pottery trail stops included:
✨Owens Original Pottery — NC’s oldest operating pottery with SIX generations, established in 1895!
🏺From The Ground Up - Pottery by Michael Mahan — Known for wood-fired pottery and truly unique craftsmanship.
🪔 Dean and Martin Pottery — a must-stop for classic Seagrove artistry and beautifully crafted unique pottery.
🫖 Thomas Pottery — full of whimsical details, handcrafted serving pieces, and pottery that feels both functional and artistic.

If you love slow travel, hidden gems, handmade finds, or simply spending a day somewhere different, Seagrove deserves a spot on your NC bucket list. We left inspired (and trying very hard not to bring home way too much pottery 🏺)
