Nothing says road trip fuel quite like a Southern biscuit stop 🚗

While in Asheboro, North Carolina, we made a breakfast stop at Biscuit Co — and it was exactly the kind of local gem we love finding on the road. Known for their oversized, homemade biscuits and classic Southern breakfast favorites, this spot definitely delivered that comforting, small-town breakfast feel.

There’s something special about finding those no-frills local spots that serve food made with heart 🚙✨

Spent the day getting a little lost in the backroads of Seagrove, NC 🏺✨

Known as the pottery capital of the US, Seagrove NC is filled with working studios where every piece tells a story and every stop is a little different.

We spent the day discovering beautiful handmade pottery, meeting talented artists, and taking our time exploring the charm of this creative little corner of NC. Seagrove is home to a centuries-old pottery tradition and dozens of working studios along the famous Pottery Highway.

Our pottery trail stops included:
✨Owens Original Pottery — NC’s oldest operating pottery with SIX generations, established in 1895!
🏺From The Ground Up - Pottery by Michael Mahan — Known for wood-fired pottery and truly unique craftsmanship.
🪔 Dean and Martin Pottery — a must-stop for classic Seagrove artistry and beautifully crafted unique pottery.
🫖 Thomas Pottery — full of whimsical details, handcrafted serving pieces, and pottery that feels both functional and artistic.

If you love slow travel, hidden gems, handmade finds, or simply spending a day somewhere different, Seagrove deserves a spot on your NC bucket list. We left inspired (and trying very hard not to bring home way too much pottery 🏺)

Tucked into a beautifully restored historic space, this cozy cocktail bar brings together speakeasy vibes, creative drinks, and a touch of Asheboro history all in one spot. The bar sits inside a former drugstore and still preserves pieces of its past, giving the whole place a fun, nostalgic feel.

Looking back on our visits to the memorials in Washington, DC feels especially meaningful today. Walking through these spaces, reading the names, and learning the stories is a reminder that Memorial Day is more than a long weekend — it’s about honoring those who served and sacrificed for our country. If you’ve ever wanted to feel the adrenaline rush of soaring through the trees, this is your sign to add ziplining to your bucket list 🌲✨

📍 Kersey Valley Attractions
Archedale, NC

We spent the morning at Kersey Valley Zipline in Archdale, NC and it was the perfect mix of adventure, scenic views, and stepping just a little outside our comfort zone!

From the moment we geared up, the adrenaline kicked in. Our guides Jen & Jen made us feel safe, explained everything clearly, and kept the experience fun from start to finish. Flying a total of 1.5 miles (from different points & heights) through the treetops, and taking in the views from above was such an unforgettable experience.

✨ Things to know before you go:
• Wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes
• Arrive a little early to check in and get geared up
• Don’t forget to bring your adventurous side!
• Perfect for date days, family fun, friend trips, or just trying something new

There’s just something about pushing yourself to try something exciting and ending the day with memories you won’t forget 💚

If you’re craving the kind of Southern comfort food that tastes like it came straight from Grandma’s kitchen, make the trip to Magnolia 23 Southern Kitchen in Asheboro, NC 🍗✨

📍 Magnolia 23

Known for their legendary fried chicken, we had to see what the hype was about—and honestly, it lived up to it. Crispy, flavorful, perfectly cooked, and the kind of meal that instantly feels comforting.

We enjoyed:
🍗 Fried chicken with collard greens, rice and a roll
🐷 Ham with yams, lima beans, and cornbread

Save room for dessert! Their butter pecan cake was the perfect ending to dinner and one we’re still thinking about!

If you love classic Southern cooking, cozy hometown restaurant vibes, and meals that feel homemade, this is definitely a spot to add to your list the next time you’re in Asheboro
