We may not have fiery fall foliage, but Charleston dresses beautifully for autumn with colorful window boxes, blooming mums, cheerful pumpkins, and festive Halloween decor.

🏴‍☠️ Fun fact: Charleston’s pirate-themed Halloween decor honors the city’s swashbuckling past. As a historic port, Charleston attracted infamous pirates like Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet, whose legends still add mischief to the season.

Pink October 💕

Breast Cancer Awareness Month often focuses on prevention and early detection, but there’s another side we don’t talk about enough: how to support someone living with cancer.

Last year, Molly Rae | Breast Cancer Thriver, a breast cancer survivor, braved the cold and snow (a rarity in Charleston!) to treat herself to a photo shoot. These portraits were more than just beautiful photographs; they would accompany her article, “𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘔𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘰𝘴,” published in the June 2025 issue of 𝘌𝘭𝘦𝘱𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴 & 𝘛𝘦𝘢 𝘔𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘻𝘪𝘯𝘦.

In her article, she challenges the familiar phrase, “Everything happens for a reason,” reminding us that sometimes we reach for those words simply because we don’t know what else to say.

So, what if we stopped trying to find the right words and simply made space for theirs?

Listen without judgment. Let them guide the conversation. Offer practical help. Check in long after the initial diagnosis, when the rest of the world may have moved on.

One question she shares, inspired by Jamie Kern Lima, puts it beautifully: “𝘋𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘯, 𝘰𝘳 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴?”

Sometimes, the greatest gift we can give someone is the freedom to feel what they feel without trying to change it.

Even after the rain, Charleston shines. ✨

Soft light, quiet streets, and pastel homes glowing just a little brighter. This East Battery beauty is one of my most requested backdrops, and a reminder that Charleston has a way of making even the most overcast days feel special.

Twenty-five years of love, a little farmer chic, and a whole lot of pink! 💕

Tish and Sanjay traveled all the way from upstate New York, where they own a farm, Letitia Fernandes (and yes, you can stay there, too!), to celebrate 25 years of marriage with THE PINK FIGGY PHOTOGRAPHY + EVENT PROP! Not only was this a special milestone, but it was also our first time meeting in real life after years of supporting each other on social media.

I loved how they incorporated their life as farmers into their session. Tish embraced 𝘧𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘳-𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘤 with a modern twist on overalls, while Sanjay’s shirt paid homage to how they started as a flower farm. A sweet nod to the life they’ve built together!
