The Early College High School at the Wilmot J. Fraser Campus stands on the historic site of Columbus Street Elementary, built in 1957 on Charlestonā€™s Eastside during the era of school segregation. The school was later renamed for educator Wilmot J. Fraser, who served as a teacher, principal, and district leader in Charleston County. After the elementary school closed in 2009, the campus was redeveloped and today serves a new generation of students earning college credit through Early College High School.
