Hey guys! This is a different post than normal, but i need your help! ‼️‼️
For those who don’t know me or my family personally, we’ve been dealing with cancer since 2011. First it was my dad, who was diagnosed with colon cancer that year. He fought it and went through numerous surgeries/chemo/radiation for eight years before he passed in 2019. Within a few years after that, both of my sisters had to have hysterectomies in their late twenties because of uterine cancer. Then in 2023, Lisa, my aunt and my dad’s sister found out her cervical cancer had returned. It breaks my heart to say it, but she was just put into hospice/comfort care this past week. We truly cannot catch a break. 💔
Now one of my sisters, Brittany, has to have chemo to fight ovarian cancer. She got her port in this past Thursday and will have her first round next week. If you know anything about chemo, you probably know it causes hair loss. This is because it goes after rapidly dividing cells, which includes hair follicles. On top of the other physical side effects she is going to experience, we don’t want her to have to deal with hair loss if there is something we can do to help stop it. While she is doing chemo, one thing she is hoping to use is cold caps, which is a treatment that can help stop all of her hair from completely coming out. This is something that her and her husband Nick had been looking into and hope to do to help her feel a little more like herself and normal while she has to go through this. Unfortunately, the treatment is expensive and not covered by their insurance because it isn’t a “necessity”.
So to help them pay for the treatment, we are selling t-shirts. We need to have all orders by next Sunday, May 11th.
