Few people can pull me out of this retirement gig I am in like forever friends that you call family. I had the pleasure of working with Benny in Pawleys recently and it was one of the more amazing shoots I have done. This kid is gonna do some great things. Hopefully first will be modeling.

Someone reached out to me the other day asking for permission to use a photo I had created for another client. Sadly, it wasn't an option, but I did a little wade through some work that may be of interest to them. It made me pause for a minute...

I had a real dream. I always thought it was beyond me. That none of what I did actually was "enough."

Hindsight is 20/20. You really do see more clearly when you look back at it all. All this time I thought I wasn't making it. When truly its been right in front of me the whole time. I couldn't be happier, more satisfied, or more proud of little old me.

I've been quiet lately...for good reason. Last night I shot my last wedding. Well...in theory. I have to say, if nothing more, it's been a wild ride.

When I told my son it was my last one, his words were "I feel sorry for all the suckers that didn't get to experience the best photographer in Charleston." And really, that's all I ever could have hoped for. Not just anyone's approval, but his.

I am not fully done. Not completely hanging up my hat just yet. But I am dialing things back. It's been a long haul from the beginning to now. I can't believe how lucky I have been to do what I have loved for so long.

To all of you who trusted me with your special day, I thank you. Humbly and completely. You believed in me when I wasn't fully sure of myself (I am looking at you, Caitlin!)

I am the luckiest girl alive.

PS - these two adorable kids were celebrating their union last night in the best way - with friends and family and in their own style. I couldn't be more honored to have been there.
