When Mark and Samantha were planning their wedding a destination wedding in Jamaica was a no brainer for them. After falling in love with this beautiful paradise on a vacation together they decided it would be the perfect spot to celebrate their union with all their family and friends. There’s something truly so special about not just cramming all of the wedding festivities into one jam packed day, but really getting to enjoy the time and celebrate with your loved ones in a beautiful place (all inclusive food and drinks certainly doesn’t hurt either!) These two are a perfect match and so evidently loved and treasured by their people. We felt honored to get to celebrate with them and capture their story.

Hoping for more sunny days and beach picnics in our near future!

Getting to incorporate meaningful places and elements of you into your engagement photo session or video story session is one of our favorite things!

Whether that means going to the spot you had your first date, your favorite hiking spot, making coffee on a lazy morning at home, splashing around at your beach, or exploring somewhere cool together the sky is the limit!

Getting to capture what makes you YOU is such a cool part of your job. Nothing about you is cookie cutter, so your photos an video should feel as unique as you are!

We’re up in the Windy City freezing our butts off for an epic wedding this weekend! What are your plans for this Valentine’s weekend?

Whether you’re going big and celebrating, hate the idea of a Hallmark holiday, Galentine’s-ing it up, or just keeping things chill with your person, we hope you get a chance to reflect on the people that love and surround you. Take time to appreciate the little things and the small moments. Love in the mundane and everyday moments of life is just as special and important as the big momentous occasions.

Whitney and Luke are seriously two of the most kind and lovely people we’ve met. When Luke sent us a message a few months before the wedding saying that he had a special surprise for Whitney at the wedding we were so excited! Outside of getting to meet their baby pup this was the perfect fall wedding. Getting to spend the day with them and their people was truly a joy and an honor. One of my favorite parts of this film are Luke’s vows.

“I see these promises to you, not as promises, but as privileges…I don’t have to love and cherish you, I get to.”

Man sometimes editing wedding films (or in my case listening to edit) can feel like going to church. The longer I’m married the more I see the importance and value of weddings as a married attendee. It’s a chance to reflect on your own relationship and the commitment you’ve made to your person. To remember where it all started and the hope and promise of that moment. To look back to that moment and see how far you have come, how much you have learned, and how you have grown together. I used to think that weddings were all about the couple, but the truth is that celebrating their love, commitment, and hope can be such an important encouragement and reminder to those in attendance as well.

5 THINGS TO ASK YOUR WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHER!

If you’ve decided to hire a wedding videographer or are considering doing so here are a few things to ask before making your decision!

1. Do you use audio in your films? If you for sure want audio from vows, speeches, etc included in your film make sure that is something your videographer does and will be capturing on the wedding day!

2. How would you describe your shooting and editing style? Get a feel for what the experience will be like and make sure you like what you see in their past work!

3. What deliverables will we receive? Do you want just a highlight film? Are you looking for a full ceremony, or all of your toasts? Make sure your videographer can give you what you’re looking for!

4. How do you back up your footage? You want to make sure your memories are safe!

5. Can we hang out and meet before the wedding? Hanging out with strangers on your wedding day is not the vibe, so see if this is an option! This is something that is really important to us personally because knowing you better allows us to do our job better!

Ultimately this decision is a “go with your gut” thing, but our biggest advice is to make sure to choose someone you vibe with that cares about you and your story!

3 Ways to incorporate pizza in your wedding day

1. Late night snack! It’s 10pm, you’re dancing your pants off and a few drinks in, what could be better than hot pizza?
2. Post ceremony getaway. If you’ve got some time between your ceremony and reception stop in somewhere for a slice or order some pizza for your party bus!
3. Pizza Buffet for Dinner! How could you go wrong?
Bonus! If pizza is your jam bring a box with you to your engagement session!

POV: it’s your BEST DAY EVER!

Photographers capture details so beautifully, but we’ve been working on unique and fun ways to do so in video as well! We loved the details that and chose for their wedding!

We KNOW many of you brides out there have probably spent way too much time thinking through the little details. The jewelry, invitations, all the cute little accents- all that work doesn’t go unnoticed. We also know that some of you bought your earrings the week of, are wearing shoes you already love, and aren’t too worried about the small stuff.

Neither of these is wrong!

We’re back from Arizona and already missing the desert warmth. It’s been unusually cold in South Carolina, so we’ve be taking some time for some much needed rest.

We had the best time last week with our mastermind community. This industry can be a lonely one, but we feel so thankful to have so many talented filmmaker friends all over the country! It’s been a great year of education and a great week of being refreshed and finding a fresh spark for this next year!
