Snippets-ish from my Sunday newsletter:

May you always pursue the narrow path, a life that calls for something more, and not perfection, but fullness…something deeper, beyond the shore. –

I pulled that card during .photo retreat last March and it still holds true. This path fuels my work – finding creative ways to tell stories within stories, and documenting life as it's actually lived rather than as a perfect something. And honestly, THIS kind of brand storytelling is where my family work and brand work intersect perfectly.

Speaking of working this way, how incredible, *and efficient*, would it be to do a family session and brand session at the same time?? Give me all the day-in-the-life feels of small business owners, like my friend Ket here, of , balancing a thriving wedding floral studio and her young children.

If you know any creative parents or makers juggling business and family, send them my way or have them reach out!! I'd love to tell their story.

P.S. Your comfort is always my priority. Want faceless shots of the kid(s) for marketing? Peeks and profiles only? Full faces just for you? Done.

Michael and I have been going down the rabbit hole of Marvel movies. We've now watched 1.5 movies feeling a sense of deja vu because honestly, we've likely watched them already but time has stretched our memories 😅 Some scenes feel prickly and familiar, like we've been there before, while other scenes felt like, how did I miss that? I feel like that sometimes with life, blurring the lines between the past and present. But you know what? It's why I love photos and looking back at them.

Your photos will always be precious. They aren't trends that fade away with time, replaced by the next latest and greatest. They are irreplaceable, each photo a moment in time that comes only once, captured forever. That's why they matter.

And while I'm on this soapbox, I encourage you to go through your digital memory vault and print out your photos. I can help with this! If you're thinking "I should print my photos I got from you" but haven't, DM me :)

Excerpt from my latest weekly newsletter, dropped on Sunday evenings:

We all deserve to be loved exactly as we are, joyfully celebrated by our partners/family, and infinitely loved, loudly and proudly.

We deserve to have that someone who believes in you wholeheartedly, who walks alongside you when things get hard, and above all, who treats you equally as human beings.

Subconsciously, it's a big part of my why.

I love photographing and celebrating your joys and your love for one another. It's why I deeply believe that your joys are deserving and worth documenting.

Never to be hidden or hidden away.

But freely and wildly celebrated.

I was making myself a peanut butter banana smoothie this morning after my run (thanks for this idea !) and thought to myself, "who had the genius idea of peeling into a banana to discover that it's edible, much less someone who figured out that the insides of durians were also edible.

Who decided to put a sharp spinning blade in a container and find a way to spin it at a fast speed so that it could pulverize food?

Then there's the camera. Did you know that the first permanent photograph ever created dates back to sometime around 1826? Wild.

Life is full of things to be amazed at. Babies are some of the most amazing creations ever. That's all.

From the mom with a full-blown teenager who I'll be seeing later this fall: "I just want to capture us having fun together."

I can do that. I can absolutely do that for you. 🥹

What a gift it is that I get to create pictures that show how unique your family is and how one of a kind you all are.

What a joy it is to celebrate the growth and innocence of your children alongside you.

What a privilege it is to get to witness your day and romanticize your real life for you.

World Photography Day might be over but in my heart, it lives on in every family I see, every bump I document, and every joyful precious moment in this one life we get.

Fall is my favorite season. Of all time. There's just something about this time period I love so so much. Are you excited too?

After a summer with not a lot of sessions, I'm ready for fall and ready to create. A quiet summer wasn't 100% intentional but it's what ended up happening and the silver lining is, I got to spend so much time with W and family and prep for fall slowly on the side.

That being said, grateful is my heart, for my fall calendar is quietly filling up on the weekends and I'm so excited to see all my return families soon!! My weekday mornings remain flexible for newborn clients too so if you're expecting this fall and would love to have me over to hang and document a snippet of your life, drop me a DM or even better yet, head to my website contact.

And if you know a family or business who'd love working with me, could you send them my way? I'd be so grateful. 🥰

Let me just pat myself on the back for this impromptu extended family session and all the little in-between moments that I love the most.

Fun fact: No whole family fits were planned together! As long as you got your crew with you, that's A+ to me. But also, who needs planning when the girlies are already on the same frequency 🤣
