Our family is currently working through the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings books and movies and this quote really stuck with me. It’s inspired a renewed focus on simple pleasures and making our home more hobbit-like. Maybe there’s even an organic garden in my future! I’ve never had much endurance for that in the past but maybe this stage in life will give me some grit for it.

Anyway, this family had me capture their hygge filled home last Fall and it reminded me why I love my job. I get to capture the things that matter.

Here’s a hesitant step back into the madness of social media after a semi-break over the past month.

I probably would have stayed away if it weren’t for a dear friend who sent me an old-fashioned letter. She encouraged me to keep going and even though I don’t think I offer much, part of me wonders if a little bright spot on Instagram and Facebook could be a small part of what she meant.

So here’s my attempt to shine a light on a good thing. I got the chance to capture the 45th Anniversary celebration of - the Domestic Abuse Project of Minnesota.

It was a beautiful night filled with stories of resilience, forgiveness and love. Please consider learning more about them and the work they do. Also, Give to the Max Day is this Thursday, November 21 (which happens to be my special friend’s and my daughter’s birthdays), and I think this organization would be a more than worthy cause for your donations.

Thanks for the sweet encouragement friend (you know who you are). Love and miss you 😘
