Ingredients:
2 slices of thick-cut sandwich bread
2 slices of cooked chicken breast (grilled or roasted)
2 slices of Swiss cheese
1/4 cup grilled mushrooms
1/4 cup sautéed onions
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1-2 teaspoons Tabasco brand hot sauce (adjust to taste)
Pinch of salt and pepper
2 tablespoons butter
Instructions:
Assemble the sandwich:

Place a slice of Swiss cheese on one piece of bread.
Layer the cooked chicken breast on top.
Add the grilled mushrooms and sautéed onions.
Top with another slice of Swiss cheese and then the second slice of bread.
Prepare the egg batter:

In a shallow bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, Tabasco hot sauce, salt, and pepper.
Dip the sandwich:

Carefully dip both sides of the sandwich into the egg mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated.
Cook the sandwich:

Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt the butter.
Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
Serve:

Remove from the skillet and let it cool slightly before serving.
Enjoy your spicy Chicken Monte Cristo Sandwich with grilled mushrooms and onions!
