Made my first HUGE dent in wedding editing🤭

With all the chaos and bookings NONSTOP - thank GOD🙏🏼 I wanted to give an update on upcoming turn around times!! This is very new and very crucial info for all reoccurring, current and future clients🫶🏼✨

Any sessions coming up will be on a 2-3week turn around - minimum. Any sessions already shot your turn around time is still about 3-4 weeks give or take from your session date!!!!

I am working HARD to get galleries done and sent out. It is crucial to keep updating and reminding all clients that I am a ONE woman show. I do it all unless i have a second shooter for weddings (love my girl Haleigh Decker !!)

My editing turn around time is usually 1 week but until further it will be 2-3 weeks mins. I am happy to be the busiest I have been all year and wanted to also say… I appreciate all the business, patience and love during this time 💛

This year I embarked again full time in this career. With blind faith, lots of *minor* crash outs and a few very strong tummy aches - I am still here🤭

This year I have been frustrated with the lack of stability. Lack of confidence. Lack of drive I have to do anything but pay my bills. So in a moment of overwhelming to dos + unforeseen circumstances… I wanted to feel in control - so I started with my Instagram feed.

For the last few days I have been reconstructing my Instagram posts. Cleaning them up a bit and making my profile a great first look for potential clients or anyone at all really interested in what I do 🫶🏼 I needed the win **see photos**

I said in December 2024 “If I can just pay my bills with this, it will be fine.” I have done that. It’s not always about paying bills. It’s hard for all of us out here. It’s tough. Life happens. Things come up. We are not in control of A LOT!!!! As frustrating as all of that is. As scared or as worried as I can get… I still am doing what I love for work and that’s a blessing on its own. A blessing that outweighs whatever is ahead.

If you’re worried about something. If your life feels like it’s falling apart. If you seem to feel like it’s one thing after another or everytime you think you got ahead you seem to fall right in a hole. Please for the love of God and the grace that comes with faith - continue to believe you’re more than your circumstances.

Let yourself be in circumstances. Refuse to let those circumstances consume you.

The years not over yet and I have so much to look forward to with or without the unforeseen outcome of eveything out of my physical control 🌻🌞💛

UPDATE FOR ALL UPCOMING SESSIONS💛

As I prep for travel in just about a week for my best friends wedding. I have three days in between back in Arizona full of sessions and calls - just before I head back home to Indy for 18 days 😮‍💨

This next month will be extremely busy, stressful tiring but also full of so many sessions so much love and so much of what makes my life so blessed🥹

I wanted to give just another little update but also ask all clients current and future to be patient with my responses but more so with galleries. I have a wedding and over 20 - yes 20 - photo sessions within 2 weeks. Galleries will be sent as soon as I can.

However I will not be rushing, sending sneaks, or answering to messages regarding galleries before they are sent out. I usually don’t have that long of a turnaround but with this busy season it will be about 3-4 weeks maybe even longer for some galleries.

I ask for patience, understanding and grace 💛

Did you know that 22% minimum of my earnings go to taxes?¿ Plus I’m taxed a small business tax around tax time. In addition I have to register every year, for the state and for the city I reside in. Not one or the other. BOTH.

22% of my lowest package is $66 profiting $234. But that’s before services fees so you can pay online. Taking a wild guess I only get about $200-220 of that. This is for 1 hour of shooting and at least a full week (7 days) of editing (if u edit every… single… day) plus the phone call and vision board work I do before your sessions. Thats $200-220 for least a weeks worth of… WORK.

$200-$220 isn’t even enough to cover all business expenses like galleries, editing software and gear to keep running. Let alone cover ALL my state requirements. not to mention my personal bills, groceries or gas.

That’s 1 basic session a month and I would never be able to live on that… ever. 1 session a week wouldn’t cut it either.

I combine portrait sessions and weddings in my calendar to keep me busy, keep me creating, and keep ALL my bills business and personal paid. And somehow figure out how to save money for both my personal and business future.

This work is valuable and as a human my time and my art is valuable. That’s why you pay what you do.

I love working with everyone’s budget and I love giving my payment plan options. I just thought I’d give a little perspective on this side of things too.

We all are just trying to make it. Every one of us. Yes photographers I’m talking to YOU.

Price what you are worth, what it takes to run a business. Price accordingly. Do what you need to do. Your people will find you.

Clients. Be aware of what it takes to actually run a business because I promise you we’re not charging “arm and leg pricing” we are charging what it costs to run a buisness AND to live✨🫶🏼
