Hey everybody! 👋🏻

Finishing up 2023 as the first year with this tiny little business, and what a joy this year was!!
It was a true gift to capture friends old and new over the past nine months.

I branched out in ways I did not expect or anticipate, with the privilege of both reveling in and stretching out of my family/couple comfort zone into newborn photography, senior portraits, grad portraits, and event photography (still waiting to dip my toes into a branding session!)

I plan to be more present here in the coming year; sharing more sessions, running some specials, maybe even hosting some minis! So stay tuned and thanks so much for being here 🤍

(Hey 👋🏻
I’m going to be sharing more regularly, I’ve been doing so many sessions and enjoying myself SO much. I absolutely love the prep and the sessions and the editing and delivering galleries, it all feels very natural and in my element, but I have felt very disconnected from sharing any of the work I’ve created. Posting feels strange. I know in today’s world this is the new word of mouth, but it just feels off-putting to share these precious memories and moments that aren’t really mine to share, you know? Anyway, I am working through that, and plan to show up better for this part of my little business, so hey again 👋🏻 I’ll be around more often ❤️)

Even though I have been taking pictures of anyone and everyone I could for years, I was a little nervous to try distilling my usual whip-my-phone-out-candid-fly-by photos into something like a “session”. But, with several under my belt now, I can honestly say that I am really, really, REALLY enjoying it. It’s so freaking special. Getting to just hang out and have fun while also capturing treasured moments in time is seriously a dream. I am so grateful to experience each session because it’s really like a little moment of community. All of the in between moments of connection that I sometimes catch with my camera but always catch with my eye, it’s heart-filling to witness the love that people share. It’s restoring. I am rambling, but basically, it’s an honor to take these photos and get to appreciate the treasure that is human connection and relationship, okay bye 👋🏻 😘

I just love everything about this moment 🥹
“Hey you guys, what’s out the window?”, I asked, and they naturally snuggled in like this; his hand over her heart, both of her hands holding his. He started pointing out the squirrels outside and a suspicious pile of pinecones that looked like the squirrels were perhaps building a fort, and you could tell that she was enthralled with his story and truly seeing what he was seeing, a whole magical world in their own backyard.
Her sweet little smile is precious enough but the reflection of it in the window melts me 🥰
It is such an honor and privilege to capture these sweet memories, to step into a family’s story for a moment and read a page 🧡

When I envisioned starting this photography business I thought I would be exclusively a family photographer. I thought “Kids are what I know, so I’ll stick with that! That’s probably what I’ll like best and be best at, I don’t even really know how to take pictures of adults!” But man, I am REALLY loving the love 😍 Couples are a whole different ball game! I love the opportunity a couple session provides for silliness, intimacy, and sweetness ❤️
