I had the privilege of spending some time with Sara, celebrating her final year in high school with some photos to commemorate the occassion! What a sweet and beautiful soul she is! I have had the honor of photographing her two older sisters senior photos and now it was finally her turn! Emma is a senior! I can't even believe it! I remember their parents engagement session and then their wedding and all of their family sessions in between and now...SHE IS GRADUATING!

Emma's dad came along on the photo shoot and boy did we have fun! He had her laughing and rolling her eyes and thinking and all of the facial expressions every photographer dreams of!

Its bittersweet when they grow up. Wishing you could slow it down. But proud of all they have accomplished. Its hard not to feel a little sad that they aren't little anymore. But with every accomplishment like a high school graduation, and every milestone, are the gentle reminders of the time that you've had, and what is yet to come. As I met with the Morgan family a lot crossed my mind. Their children are growing up so quickly. I photographed them a couple of years back and was so excited to get the opportunity to do so again. This time, their son on his way to a new station assignment out of the country. Their older daughter traveling to new lands and their youngest will soon fly the nest as well. All of these thoughts reminded me of the two things they have given all of their children that we all should take note: Roots to where they came from and wings to soar and explore!! You all were a blast and I so very much loved our time together! Thank you for letting me be a small part of this memory with you! This is the Morgans! There is nothing like snowfall that can bring out everbodies inner child! We aren't used to this kind of snow in the lowlands here in the Pacific Northwest. What a true gift it was to have this glorious gift surround us for the past couple of weeks!

I came across this photo that I shot in 2014. It made me think back of the last 7 years to where we are today.

In a world of hurt and pain and confusion. In the world of anger and hostility and division. The same world where my child said to me tonight, I feel like the world is ending- as we talk about the chaos that is erupting around us. The world where the unpredictable continues to become more unpredictable- I saw this and thought of my childhood.

This pledge I spoke every morning while I grew up in public schools. This pledge I made without the fear that "the world is ending." The flag that I watched my childrens father deploy to protect alongside his brothers and sisters. The Unity that it stands for in the only country that was founded on freedom is the same pledge that has my child questioning if the world is ending due to the segregation and demands being forced upon them to listen and see and hear.

This post isn't political. This post is a post to think about what this flag means to you. To pray for your neighbors who are struggling and to shake the hand of the stranger who is a vet that served in a war that lasted what may be lifetimes for them. To kneel down in front of the child that fears the world is ending when he steps outside and asks questions that even many parents do not have the answers to. Listen to the teachers that might be losing their jobs or the firefighter who is facing losing his pension he worked for his entire career. REGARDLESS of your own opinions or perceptions.

This photo means so much more to me today than when I took it in 2014.

The challenges change us. That is one thing I am certain of. I am also confident that faith can move mountains!

Just believe in what our country was founded on and what it means to stand and support your neighbor who might be feeling alone in a world where her child thinks the world is ending.

RAW Graphics is rebranding and rebuilding! Its been a while in the making, but it is time for a new look and fresh faces! You will be seeing some updates over the next few weeks! If you would like to ensure your images grace the pages of my website, send me a review of your experience with us!

I took some time to complete my undergrad (5 years specifically) and it is time to get back to my roots of what I love!
