Today we remember and honor those who came before us and paid the ultimate price. While I celebrated with those around me that I love and care about, I visited the graves of those in my family who had served in the military.

Thank you will never be enough to show the amount of gratitude I feel for them, but every year I will continue to honor for what they fought for.

Presenting... The 2022 Central City Speech and Debate team!

This poster was a little challenging to put together, but in the end it turned out great. The speech coach had a great idea that included all of the members while also showing the history of the speech program. Best of luck to them for the remainder of the season!

Presenting... The 2021 Central City Bands Wildcat Marching Band!

What a busy week! We were once again at Central City High School to take their 2021 Homecoming photos! Luckily, my schedule was open that Saturday night as I had been asked to come in and do photos about a week before the dance. A BIG thank you to Melanie Hoffner for helping me with paperwork and testing lighting.

If you know of a high school that is still in need of a homecoming/winter dance/prom photographer, I do have dates still available.

Tomorrow is an exciting day... Make sure to be on the lookout for the reveal of Central City Band's 2021 Marching Band Poster! I had such a fun time creating it for them. Although I did come in and take their photographs later in their season, I did all that I could to make sure that they had their posters and products before the end of the season and their last performances. I'm excited to share it with you all tomorrow!

Many thanks to our friends over at KCRG-TV9 First Alert Weather for spreading the Iowa Department of Natural Resources Fall Foliage chart! I have a very LIMITED number of spots left in my schedule around that time for Senior & Family Portraits. If you have been dragging your feet on getting something scheduled, now is the time!

The Iowa DNR released its first fall foliage report today! Here's an estimated look at when areas across the state could see peak viewing this year

YES I'm still alive, I promise! Lots of rebuilding and rebranding has been going on behind the scenes. Lot's of controlled chaos you could say, but its coming along great.

Yesterday, I finished up photographing Central City Bands' 2021 Marching Band photos, and I will say that they are looking amazing!! 😄 I'm SO excited to show off the great photos I have made for them. I showed a sneak preview to Band Director, Joshua Morey, last night when I was done and he was wowed by what he saw. Go Cats!

This past weekend, I attended my very FIRST Professional Photographers of Iowa (PPI) convention! Although I officially joined PPI in October last year, this was my first convention that I attended. I learned a TON of new information!

I entered a set of 4 images to be judged for the Winter Print Competition and I came out with 3 print awards! I was also named as one of Iowa's Top Ten photographers. (I still can't believe it!)

The awards were:

Winter Convention - 2021
Non-Master Woman Outdoors: 2nd Place
Non-Master Man Outdoors: 2nd Place
Non-Master Non-Event Album: 2nd Place
And the 2021 PPI Photographer Top 10 Award! (Seen below)

They also handed out awards from the Fall Print Competition! I entered in the competition but did not attend the Fall Event.

Fall Event - 2020
Non Master Photojournalism: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place
Illustrative: 1st Place
And a Judges Choice Ribbon for one of my Photojournalism Images!

And for some more exciting news...

In the next couple of weeks you might see some changes going on. That's because I'm going to be re-doing my ENTIRE website along with revamping all of my social medias.

I will share more on that when I can- but for now the current website will still be up and running as usual.
