This is sweet Emma.
I had the honor of taking the very first professional photos since she was in the NICU. Emma is so very loved and such a special one. Emma spent the first 127 days of her life fighting to stay alive. She was born 7 weeks early with one kidney that was full of cysts and did not work, at all. She has been on dialysis since she was 5 days old and her first surgery took place when she was only 3 days old. She is awaiting a kidney transplant and will have to get her current kidney surgically removed... once this Coronavirus subsides. 🙏🏻 She is on dialysis 12 hours a night and requires 24/7 care. I share this because I am so touched by this little fighter, the immense amount of love her family has for her and because I am beyond honored to document these family photos that I know will be cherished forever! ❤️🙏🏻

Shift you’re perspective today. Look around, sit with gratitude for the people and the small, usually overlooked things in your life. Those are actually the things that matter most. Think of Emma and her family, send them good vibes and be well during this heavy time of uncharted waters. More on that in a different post... because 🥴
I’ve been quiet. I’ve been adjusting, navigating, putting out fires and all the things we all have been experiencing... oh, and homeschooling 4 kids. 🤓 I have been enjoying the optimism on my feed and I’ll be back. I have some exciting news to share!! For now, Emma ❤️✨

It was great photographing the beautiful and oh, so talented Gomez family for the February issue of Centerville- Washington Neighbors Magazine. What a breath of fresh air this crew is!!! We are lucky to have them here locally... well Alexis is in Nashville doing her thing, 🎶 🎤... but comes home often! You may remember her from American Idol. I got to hear her amazing voice during our photo session... play the piano and guitar too. Girl can sing!!! 😍❤️ Thank you for inviting me into your home.
