There is something so electric about being in a room full of people who are building something they believe in.

Photographing wasn’t just about documenting an event for me. It was getting to watch founders stand in front of a room and share the thing they’ve poured their time, energy, money, ideas, failures, pivots, and probably a few sleepless nights into.

And I LOVE that.

I love people.

I love hearing someone explain what they’re building and watching their entire face change because suddenly you can see how much they care about it.

I love the conversations between pitches. The handshakes. The nerves before someone walks on stage. The relief when they step off. The people leaning toward each other saying, “Okay, tell me more about that.”

That’s the part of entrepreneurship I think we sometimes forget.

Businesses are built by people.

And when you put enough passionate, ambitious, wildly different people into one room and give them the opportunity to actually connect with one another, there is an energy that is almost impossible to explain until you experience it.

Some of the people in this room I had photographed before.

Some I was meeting for the first time.

Some I may work with years from now.

And that is exactly why I love being in rooms like this.

Photography has given me this incredible excuse to walk into spaces, meet people I may have never otherwise met, hear pieces of their stories, and preserve a little bit of what was happening in that exact moment.

Buzz Tank felt exciting.

It felt ambitious.

It felt like ideas becoming real things.

And somewhere between photographing the pitches, the conversations, the reactions, and everything happening around the edges of the room, I caught myself thinking…

This is exactly where I want to be.

Around people who are building.

Around people who are trying.

Around people who have an idea and are brave enough to stand up and say, “This is what I believe I can create.”

What an incredible room to photograph. ✨
