Birthday Post - For years I kept quiet about my birthday, and then people started asking why I never mentioned it. So here it isβ€”another year has gone by.

I’m doing my best to stay active, keep exploring, keep creating and try feel younger then my biological age.

This is one of my favorite photos from last year that somehow never made it to a post, so today seems like a good time to share it.

While the New Year officially begins in January, for me there’s something about the fresh green leaves of spring that feels just as much like a new beginning. The trees come back to life, everything feels renewed, and it’s a reminder that every year brings something new.

I took this photo along a birch-lined path last spring. I went there because I love the fresh green colors of the season, and I thought it would make a nice companion to a fall photo I took from the same location.

For whatever reason, I never got around to editing or posting it. It sat untouched for a year until today, when it felt like the perfect photo to share on my birthday.

had no idea this vantage point even existed until Adam Silverman Photography figured it out. From this spot, the Statue of Liberty lines up perfectly with the Empire State Building, One Vanderbilt, and the new JPMorgan Chase tower behind it.

It was incredible watching the skyline light up while Lady Liberty stood in the foreground, with four iconic New York landmarks all in the same frame.

The Statue of Liberty is just 1.77 miles away, while the Empire State Building is 6.9 miles away.

I nearly forgot about this Milky Way photo from April. I was never completely happy with the edit. Every time I opened it, I found something else I don’t like.

At some point, though, it’s better to stop chasing and just to with it, that was a magnificent night and watching the Milky Way rise over the mountains as the night is always special.

While on our way to the moonset location to meet up with other photographers, Adam Silverman Photography and I scouted for an overlook for sunset. Was able somehow to find this one from 13.5 miles away, the entire Manhattan skyline was glowing, I have never seen New York like that.

Just love it when a plan comes together like that! Once in a blue moon!

Shot the May Blue moon behind the Statue of Liberty with and a large number of other photographers, and was even lucky to get that plane come through the moon at the exact time the moon passed through the torch.

What a night capturing the moon from 10.5 miles away as it rose above the Empire State Building.

A huge thank you to for the invitation, scouting and coming up with that alignment - It was also great spending the evening photographing alongside Adam Silverman Photography and a fantastic group of photographers including , .pixels, , , , and .d.

Dunquin Pier at sunset, on the western edge of Ireland.

While heading to Dublin for a work trip, I decided to add an extra day and explore the countryside of western Ireland. I did some research and got recommendations to go to the Di**le Peninsula. I picked Dunquin Pier as my sunset destination and spent the afternoon making my way through amazing countryside scenery.

I still didn’t upload my camera photos, but I liked this iPhone photo, so I’m sharing it first.

Walking back to my hotel after a meeting, I noticed the sky starting to explode with color. I immediately turned around and ran back to a spot where I thought the subject would work well, this is the Custom House built in 1781.

I didn’t have my Sony camera with me, but the iPhone was a good alternative. Sometimes you have to use what you have.

When I checked the forecast this morning, it looked like medium clouds would block most of the sunrise β€” the northern parts of Maine looked far more promising β€” but when I stepped outside, I caught a sliver of color on the horizon, so I headed out and used the medium lens to capture it.
