Growing up in Minnesota, rain in the forecast often meant enduring several days of relentless soaking. The heavy cloud cover would persist, accompanied by misty fog or even snow. Now, residing on the Front Range of Colorado at elevation 5,000 feet, I witness the inception of those childhood storms. I can observe small storm fronts emerging over the Rockies, gradually evolving into wind and rain squalls spanning 10 to 15 miles in width. Isolated cells, these bands then transform into massive fronts as they move east and approach the borders of Kansas, Nebraska, and the Dakotas. "How it Begins"
