I love being in the Rockies. Not because of the beauty or the wildlife. Id rather be near the water to photograph but......not when can't function in the heat and humidity and get sick as a dog from health problems. I come out here and my fibrosis seems to disappear. The day before I left I took two small trips to the RV and came back in overheated, coughing, head on fire, and so another breathing treatment. I'm sick of being sick when it could be different. I even bought a mountain bike out here and the lungs feel better after riding for a while. I've barely used the AC while out here. If it's to warm in Cheyenne I just drive an hour and go up in elevation to be active.
Anyways, while hiking on the Air Force base I found these guys. The baby screech owls didn't fledge till about 4 or 5 days ago. And they have been bobbling their heads around in the morning and evenings. So cute to watch for hours on end.
I only found them after finding a northern flicker cavity and after a few hours the screech owls popped their head out in the same tree 2 feet above in another cavity. The screech owls have been very difficult to get photographs of because their so tiny. Hope everyone is doing well.

Well it's finally happening. We sold the house and close on Friday. I've enjoyed some of Florida even though it has made me sick as a dog with the heat and humidity.

These photos are from the Apalachicola shrimp boats. The fishermen come in with their catch and when they leave the night herons come in and search the boats for leftovers. Idk how many times I've watched these guys over the years but I've had some very peaceful and rewarding times here.
