Nadine has raised Gumbo from a puppy, and now it’s time for him to head off to the next stage of his journey toward becoming a service dog. ❤️”

In her words: "Can’t believe the time has come to send our boy, Gumbo, to college to begin his final stage of training in order to pair him to his forever person. He was always meant to be with our family for this chapter and he has lit up our lives and the lives of everyone who saw him on outings in more ways than we ever expected. We are beaming with pride. Gumbo, you’ll move mountains! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So get on your way. We love you so very much! ❤️"

Final photo from yesterday’s reel!

This was an easy group to work with and only required one “head swap”—using one dog’s head from another image to replace it in the final photo because he wasn’t looking at the camera.

Head swaps are almost always part of the process when you’re photographing three or more dogs, even when they’re as well-trained and cooperative as this bunch! There’s just a lot happening when you’re trying to get everyone looking their best at the same time. 😄

Freedom Service Dogs recently paired these two!

Mallory is a school resource officer with the Littleton Police Department. She was partnered with facility dog Thistle, who will become the first facility dog to be matched with a school resource officer in Littleton!

Thistle looks a little different than most Freedom Service Dogs because he’s a cross between a Newfoundland and a golden retriever. With Mallory as his partner, he will help create a welcoming and supportive educational environment for students while strengthening positive connections between youth and law enforcement.

Dogs may not say “Mom,” but they know exactly who their person is!
