Orchard Oriole, May 9, 2026, my Cedarburg yard. I used to have them nesting nearby until they cleaned out the triangle in back of my house. Now I only get a quick visit most years.

Watching for orange (Orioles) but seeing red! It would appear I have a Northern Cardinal with a sweet tooth! Never before, in over 20 years feeding Orioles, have I seen a Cardinal eating grape jelly.
Sorry, I forgot to mention, this was in my Cedarburg yard on April 26, 2026.

Took a late morning ride to my favorite Mequon park Saturday. Can't get the Kingfishers to cooperate but I did find a couple new birds for this year; Wood Ducks, Blue-winged teals. Patience won again as this male Wood Duck swam right past me. Across the river, a Wood Duck appears to be renewing acquaintances with these turtles.

Easter Sunday, gift from God! After spending the afternoon with my family, I took a quick ride around Horicon Marsh. Drove past a field with at least a hundred Sandhill Cranes in it. this pair was heading to join them.
