In addition to the film showings I also just picked up some more From Iowa and Back hats. I’m stocked up on Richardson 112, what I call a dad cap, and now a cool Richardson Rope hat that’s pretty reminiscent of a classic Hayden Fry hat.

Reach out if you’d like to support the film with some merchandise and come out to either the La Porte City, Fairfax, and possibly an Ely showing coming up in July.

We had a great turnout at the dewittoperahouse DeWitt Operahouse Theatre

Huge thank you to the Opera House, The Eugene McManus American Legion Post 238, and Michelle and Steven Martens for sponsoring the showing and creating such a great event for the community and our Iowa Veterans.

I believe we’ll be back in DeWitt again soon so keep an eye on the page for screening updates.

We are just about ready to start the film at the historic Dewitt Opera House film screening

Great crowd today and what better day than Flag Day to share this story of Iowa Veterans with this community.

This week I had an opportunity to deliver some well deserved awards to members of the FIAB team that I picked up at the 35th Iowa Motion Picture Association film festival.

Musicians Brian Johannesen and Marc Janssen (pictured with Jeremy Glazier) along with Gerard Estella of the Brucemore's Artisan Studio all played on Brian’s original song “Old Dubuque” which is featured throughout the film and written specifically for the film. Gerard used that song as the core for the musical score and beautifully weaved his score throughout the film to guide and evoke the sentiment of Brian’s lyrics.

Steven James lent his vocal talents to narrate the story that weaves throughout the film and guide us through the experiences of the 16 veterans. His talents garnered a Voice Over Narration award of excellence and is very well deserved.

Of course we couldn’t have done any of it without Nicole Oranges, Megan Turner, Lincoln Ginsberg, Zach Slama, Stephanie Carleton, and everyone under the Brucemore umbrella. It’s been a real honor to partner with them and to see the resulting appreciation and pride the veterans that see the film express after the film.

Reminder there are Iowa showings June 14th in DeWitt at the Opera House, July 1st in La Porte City at the library and July 14th in Fairfax at the legion. Reach out for more info or to schedule a showing in your community.
