This is one of the few I captured on a hike the other day...looking at this photo now, it has me thinking about both life and death, and how so many of us are resistant to death, not realizing that you cannot have life without it, that we are continually in a process of both, and that there is so much beauty within it.

The majority of time, when I capture photos, it's not because I've gone out looking for a scene or something in particular to photograph - most of the time I end up capturing photos of something that I wasn't expecting or looking for, necessarily. I was open to the beauty all around me and was really able to take it in, and then sometimes I'm really fortunate and have the opportunity to photograph that scene, that moment, that something and share the beauty I perceive all around me with the world. So even though I may not be photographing and sharing every day, be sure to know that when I come across something that makes me look twice, I am sure to share it if I'm also able to capture it with my camera!
