Hockey season is almost wrapped up — just one more weekend to go 🏒

It’s been a long but fun ride this year. Bantam A finished 5th at State, and my husband’s beer league team took 1st in Madison (not bad, babe 😉). Now we’re heading into the Midget tournament to close it all out.

Between rinks, travel, and chasing my two little boys around (they’re 2 and 3 😅), social media definitely took a back seat this winter. Life just gets busy sometimes. No hockey for them yet… but I have a feeling my schedule is about to get even crazier when that day comes.

Now that the season is winding down, wedding season is officially here 🤍 I’ll be catching up on emails and messages this week and getting ready for all the amazing couples I have lined up this year.

Let’s talk about something that might be popping up more in Wisconsin weddings 👀🥤

With the new barn venue laws, a lot of venues may be shifting toward dry weddings. And honestly? I think we’re about to see a rise in the dirty soda bar era here in the Midwest.

Think about it:

✨ Still feels like a “signature drink” moment
✨ Zero alcohol, all the personality

From creamy Dr. Pepper combos to fruity soda mocktails, it gives guests that “treat yourself” experience without needing a full bar. And from a photo perspective? The colors, the signage, the little details… it’s a whole vibe.

It’s been a minute since I’ve posted — life has been a whirlwind lately. Between editing days, client emails, and trying to keep up with two little boys who think sleep is optional 😅, this mama is feeling it. The kids miss me when they’re at Nana & Pops, my desk looks like a creative tornado hit it, and honestly? I just want a day to read or color and pretend my workload doesn’t exist for 24 hours 😂

Okay hear me out 👀

The greenhouse studio isn’t happening just yet (because I want time to make it exactly how I imagine), but that doesn’t mean holiday minis are off the table!

Since I can’t find a studio that fits everyone’s location — and there isn’t one close enough to most of my clients — I decided to just make my own little setup this year 🎄✨

It’s giving all the cozy holiday studio vibes: full backdrop, flooring, twinkle lights, and classic Christmas charm.
(And yes, if it’s chilly, there’ll be space heaters keeping it nice and warm in case because - well Wisconsin❄️😂)

Sessions will be November 9th, and I’ll be sharing setup photos soon!

Burnout is real.
Sneak peeks (those little previews from sessions or weddings) are taking a bit longer than usual right now. And video sneak peeks? Those take even more time—so thank you for your patience while I catch up.

It’s busy season, which means extra editing, travel, and long days at the computer. But it’s also fall—the weather’s cooling off, the pumpkin patches are calling, and I’m trying to soak up as much outdoor time with the boys as I can before winter settles in. 🧡

I’ve been feeling a little under the weather lately, and next week one of my best friends is coming up from Florida—so I’m taking a little time to slow down, breathe, and be present.

Thank you all for being so understanding and supportive—it truly means the world. 🤍
