My Favorite Places : Gabreil Daveis Tavern
Location : 500 3rd Ave, Glendora, NJ 08029
This historic tavern, built in 1756, is situated in Glendora within modern-day Gloucester Township, NJ, in Camden County, along Big Timber Creek.

During the Revolutionary War the tavern was designated as a hospital by George Washington during the war.

The property is listed on both It was listed in the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Historic Preservation Office in 1973 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1977

Today is served a a museum and host several special events throughout the year.

On an overcast Sunday, a diverse assembly of law enforcement vehicles, ranging from classic models to modern patrol units, gathered from local, state, and out-of-state agencies, mixed with civilian vehicles.

Tucked away in a cul-de-sac this historic in Pikesville, Baltimore County, Md is a stone structure that dates all the way back to approximately 1690’s.

The building which was originally built following a 1693 order from Governor Francis Nicholson and his Council. The outpost was also called Oulton's Garrison for commander Captain John Olton of Oldton.

The building served as a stronghold against Indian attacks during the last decade of the 17th century and again in 1755 it was used during the French and Indian War.

By 1798, it was in private ownership, and recent archaeological analysis proved that it was used as quarters for slaves. A second story and new roof were added during the 19th century.

The site hosts an annual "Fort Garrison Frontier" open house with cooking demonstrations and tours.

The property was acquired in 1965 by the Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks.

The property was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 25, 1971.
