Well it’s been six months since my last post so I thought I’d check-in. I’m continuing to quietly write my legacy trilogy with each volume being a cookbook with life stories and fine art photos. So I took a brief break from writing to enter 3 images in a juried national photography exhibition in South Carolina and one of my images made it into the show. 150 attended the opening reception viewing 120 plus images from across the USA. My heartfelt thanks to Rick Haley & Larry Bennett for being instrumental in making this opportunity a reality.

It’s a wrap! My two month solo exhibition at the Castro Valley Center for The Arts concluded with a reception yesterday. The Director of the Castro Valley Arts Foundation shared with me that many of the hundreds of attendees to the Center that perused my exhibition over the course of its run came away with a greater appreciation for photography because they felt many of the images drew them in. I was very humbled that they (my images) were impactful. It was a very special surprise that my niece, husband and great neice made the long journey from Salinas to see the exhibition. Bill Green (friend since high school) and Jonathan Quist (Transamerica Airlines colleague/friend) was also a surprise. Between the two of them that’s a total of 95 years plus of friendship. Maggie & John Kinstle as well as Elena Doronkina (gallery friends) also made the journey. Seeing all the above really made the event and exhibition worth all the effort that went into it. I’d also like to thank Terry Liebowitz (Director of CV Arts foundation) and Susan Sarti (curator) for their help in curating and helping me install the 47 images contained in the exhibition. We said goodbye to our family and friends and made a fast exit to S.F. to see Tom Papa a very, very funny comedian at The Masonic. If he’s coming to your town/city - go see him (you can thank me later). Thankfully home by 10 but exhausted. Here are some views of almost all the images in my exhibition.

I’m back for a brief moment to invite my family, friends and patrons to my solo exhibition closing reception at the Castro Valley Center for the Arts on October 4th from 3:30-5:00pm. This is a rare opportunity to see the bulk of my body of work (47 medium-to-large images) or shall I say, all that I could fit in the space! I hope to see you there!

Rainy day, rain all day
Ain’t no use in getting uptight, just let it groove its own way
Let it drain your worries away
Lay back and groove on a rainy day
