Happy accidents sometimes lead to rainbows 🌈.

We were outside of Castle Valley for a final test mission on a top secret project (more soon). We had a full afternoon planned to get gear set and do some tests. The weather had other plans and dropped a gnarly thunderstorm on us.

We hunkered down in our cars until it passed, then got to work. We were behind schedule and rushing. I looked over my shoulder and saw the rainbow over Castle Valley and had to stop for a quick snap.

Castle Valley is easily one of my favorite places in the world. Despite the craziness of our task at hand, it was incredible to spend a full day and night here shooting and taking it all in.

Sometimes a simple iPhone snap is all you need to feel inspired to share.

I took a few weeks away from posting on here. Every now and then it’s needed. But, this shot of the moon from my front yard felt applicable since we have a mission this week where I will be hanging out with this moon quite a bit.

I look forward to getting back in the saddle and I hope everyone is doing ok out there ✌🏼

A very early sneak peak at a little personal project I’m working on. We are shooting with the amazing people at West Desert Flight to tell the story of getting my pilot’s license last year and the why behind it.

We still have plenty of shooting to do, but I just couldn’t wait to share a little preview of this project. I figured we can continue to show how this evolves as we keep stacking days at the Airpark.

There are going to be a lot of talented friends helping us with this, so I will be sure to appropriately credit everyone when the final piece comes to life.

And yes, I still am awkward as hell sitting in front of the camera 🤣.

Some snaps from the trusty travel camera from a recent trip to California wine country with my ❤️.

We hadn’t been on vacation together (just the two of us) in almost 4 years. The last time was our babymoon. So it felt like forever since it was just us.

While we missed the kids, it was so nice to remember where this all began before the craziness. It also made us appreciate how in this season of life, we can sometimes feel like ships passing in the night to one another.

Either way, it was a lovely getaway. We got to have dinner with Kirby’s brother in San Fran, put the phones away, enjoy some vino, and just relax.

We can’t thank JJ, Mal, and all the babysitters who manned the fort so we could get 3 nights to ourselves.

Finally got the main bird back in the air. Feels good to be flying again and you certainly can’t beat views like this less than an hour from the driveway.

We are still having fun pulling together some cuts from our Ford F-150, Super Duty, Ranger & Maverick spec shoot in Moab.

While we had a clear direction for our hero piece, this is part of what makes spec work fun - experimenting and finding new ways to tell the same story.
