Allow me to introduce myself 😌👇🏼

I don’t think I ever have.

My name is Zoe and I’m the face behind Shuttermountain Photography. I’ve lived in Colorado Springs for 8 months now. How that happened? My husband and I originally planned to sell all of our belongings and travel the country full time living in a 16ft camper. When his Master’s Degree became serious, we needed to settle down… and picked a random location which happened to be Colorado Springs. So we packed everything up and moved from New England halfway across the country to Colorado.

I’ve always loved taking pictures but felt really inspired after my dad’s passing and how I hardly have any pictures with him. I want people to have all of the pictures with their loved ones. I’m self taught and it has taken a lot of trial and error to figure things out — I’m convinced, however, that you can’t teach capturing emotions. And that’s what I’m all about. Capturing raw, candid, imperfect moments that you’ll hold onto forever. I’ll move your hair out of the way, ask you to take your phone and wallet out of your pockets but will hardly ever tell you to sit and stare awkwardly towards the camera. Go chase your kids. Tickle them until they start crying laughing. Throw them in the air. Give them kisses. Slow dance with your spouse. Act silly. Embrace each other. Head bang. Bring your pet and play with them. Whatever you’d like. Don’t worry about me because I’ll do my thing while you have fun.

Whenever you don’t find me capturing memories, I work a regular ole’ 9-5. I work in dentistry. It’s my passion. I help people overcome their fear every day and I love connecting with people in the dental chair. Other than that, I love exploring, traveling, camping with my husband and our dog Snickers, and I’m a HUGE foodie. If I don’t eat, something is seriously wrong with me. If you’d like to book a session and hang out for a couple of hours, I’d seriously love that. It’s what I love to do - for me, for you and for your memory bank. Let’s go outside and adventure ♥️
