🚨 EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY — A CHANGE AT JO + GRACE CO. 🚨

After a lot of thought, I have made the decision that Jo + Grace Co. will no longer publicly post identifiable images of children without specific parent/guardian approval for that individual image, regardless of what a general photography release may allow.

AI is changing our world faster than many of us ever imagined, and unfortunately, those advancements come with risks—especially when it comes to images of our children.

A recent federal court decision involving privately possessed, entirely AI-generated explicit imagery of fictional minors has brought even more attention to how complicated our laws have become in the age of AI. While that ruling does not make the misuse of photographs of real children legal, it was enough to make me stop and seriously think about what I can personally do as a photographer.

And this is one thing I can do.

I have spent years photographing babies, children, families and seniors. These aren’t simply beautiful images for my portfolio. These are your babies. Your whole world. And when you trust me with them, I take that responsibility seriously.

Could posting fewer images affect the way I market my business? Absolutely.

But if protecting a child’s privacy means my portfolio is a little smaller, that’s a trade I will make every single time.

Going forward, parents will have greater control over whether and how images of their children are shared publicly by Jo + Grace Co. Private galleries will remain just that—private—and your child’s safety and privacy will always matter more to me than likes, shares, reach or advertising.

Technology may continue to change.

My responsibility to the families who trust me won’t. 🤍
