Family sessions are where this all began for me.

Thirteen years ago, I picked up a camera because I wanted to preserve the little moments. Since then, I’ve photographed growing bumps, newborn snuggles, toddlers who never stop moving, high school seniors, engagements, weddings… and now, some of those same families are bringing me babies of their own.

Getting to grow alongside your families has been one of the greatest gifts of my career.

So every fall, I set aside a handful of dates just for this.

California Fall Minis are officially open.

Twenty-five minutes to slow down.

Twenty-five minutes to hug your babies a little tighter.

Twenty-five minutes to let them run barefoot through the sand, chase birds, collect shells, and simply be kids.

And yes—we’ll absolutely get the holiday card photo. The one where everyone is looking at the camera and smiling.

But we’ll make space for everything in between, too.

Because years from now, I don’t think you’ll treasure the perfectly posed photo any more than the one where your daughter is belly laughing, your son is covered in sand, or everyone ends up in one big hug.

Those are the moments I hope you’ll remember.

Because sometimes it’s the little things that make a wedding feel completely magical.

Marianne + Rick brought a little bit of Hawaii to Lake Tahoe, and honestly, I’ve always felt like these two places have a certain synergy. Island vibes, Tahoe pines, tropical florals, leis, and a whole lot of love.

One of their friends, a retired florist, helped bring their vision to life — and it was such a fun reminder that weddings don’t have to follow one aesthetic or one “rule.” Bring Hawaii to Tahoe. Wear the florals. Get the bubble machine. Do what feels like you.

Oh, and bring your cute grandkids. Because no matter what stage of life you’re in, you deserve to celebrate your love and have these moments.

And yes, the $16 bubble machine was absolutely worth it.

Congratulations, Marianne + Rick. Your day was colorful, joyful, a little bit tropical, and so uniquely yours.

No crowded overlook. Just the two of them, a creek, and a place that had already been part of his family’s story for decades.

Memorial Day weekend in Tahoe usually means crowds. Kevin had a different idea.

His family cabin near Kyburz has been part of their lives for decades, and he knew there was only one place he wanted to ask Sydney to marry him. The plan was simple: tell her they were dressing up for dinner, take a walk down to the creek, and ask the biggest question of his life somewhere that already felt like home.

What Sydney didn’t know was that this day had been months in the making.

It all started with an email from her best friend. Before long, the three of us had a group text going, quietly planning every detail. Kevin and I even met in Kyburz beforehand to walk the property, scout the perfect spot, and make sure the only surprise left was the question itself.

Swipe through, and somewhere along the way you’ll find the moment she said yes.

But you’ll also see everything that came after.

A glass of Macallan, neat. Fly fishing in the creek. Wandering through the woods and dancing in the trees.

Because sometimes the proposal isn’t the whole story.

Sometimes it’s just the beginning.

The Chateau 🤍 Andi + Alex

One of my favorite parts about this job is getting to photograph the people who find me through past couples.

Andi & Alex were referred to me by one of my incredible couples, Sydney & Nick. It made this wedding even more special because Sydney’s brother is one of Alex’s best friends and stood beside him on the wedding day, while Nick’s brother was there celebrating as a guest. Then I looked around and spotted another one of my past couples, Rachel & Travis.

Good people really do run in packs.

Being trusted by the same circle of family and friends is one of the greatest compliments I could ever receive, and it never gets old.

From the very beginning, this day just felt…easy.

We intentionally front-loaded all of the portraits, which meant Andi & Alex got to spend their entire cocktail hour exactly how they wanted to—with the people they love. Their timeline had room to breathe, nobody felt rushed, and every part of the day unfolded naturally. Honestly, if every wedding had this much room to breathe, I’d never complain about a nine-hour timeline.

And then there were the details… the wildflowers, the stationery, the thoughtful touches, guests dressed to the nines, and one of my favorite Lake Tahoe venues, The Chateau. Every piece came together so beautifully, and it was such a joy to document.

Andi & Alex, thank you for trusting me with your memories. Your people are pretty incredible, and I’m so grateful I got to spend the day with all of you. 🤍

Some sessions just click.

From the moment Mina + Dan stepped out of the car, it felt like we had known each other for years. We wandered through the forest, climbed rocky overlooks, shared a celebratory Fireball shot 🥃, and finished the evening with a champagne spray at blue hour. Somewhere between all the laughs and chasing the last bit of light, it stopped feeling like a photo session and started feeling like an adventure.

I think that’s the magic of building a genuine connection. When you feel comfortable enough to just be yourselves, the photos don’t have to be forced—they simply become a reflection of who you are together.

Thank you, Mina + Dan, for trusting me with this chapter of your story. I already can’t wait to see what comes next. 💚

Some evenings feel like they’ll be remembered forever.

Chandler surprised Shelby with a proposal aboard a vintage wooden boat on Emerald Bay, surrounded by alpine water, summer light, and the people they love most.

Watching the story unfold—from the nerves before the question to celebrating with friends afterward—is exactly why I love what I do.
