Nv-Wild Photography My intention is to show you the beauty and magic of our planet and what is waiting to be explored in our own backyard.

We need not travel far, instead slow down and just be present to see and experience the magic of our natural world.

I've been having way too much fun diving into the stories written into the bloodlines out on the Virginia Range.
Meet Lantera... an 8-year-old band stallion carving out his place in the wild. His sire, Leegard, is an absolute tank of a bay roan, the kind of presence you don't forget. And his beautiful pinto dam, she's now running wild and free over the Rainbow Bridge.
There's something special about piecing these legacies together - watching the echoes of who they came from show up in who they are today. The wild never forgets its roots.

Union Pacific #4014 is the world's only operating member of the 25 "Big Boy" locomotives, restored in 2019, making it a "living legend" of rail history. Built in 1941 to haul heavy freight over Utah's Wasatch mountains, this 1.2-million-pound, 133-foot-long, articulated 4-8-8-4 locomotive produces roughly 7,000 horsepower.

With the unseasonably warm weather in March, many horses have already shed their winter coats earlier than usual. This natural process, known as seasonal shedding, is triggered by longer daylight hours and rising temperatures - not just warmth alone. Even as their coats thin out, horses like Paladin still rely on instinctive behaviors to regulate their body temperature. One of the most effective is rolling in the dirt. This isn't just for comfort or play - dust and dirt can act as a natural insulating layer, trapping warmth close to the body while also providing protection against wind and insects.
In changing conditions, horses continuously adapt using what nature provides - shedding when it's time and layering up in their own way when needed.
