I told myself I wasn’t going to reflect on 2025… the hardest year yet. But as I walked down this trail and watched the sun melt down the peaks, I was met with this unexpected reflection in the water, and one of my own.

Looking back on 2025, I can’t help but feel thankful to finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. What began as the worst year yet — losing my best friend, and then five months later losing my job — pushed me into autopilot and survival mode. I recognize that now.

But what I truly want to reflect on is what came through the chaos: landing my dream job and my person asking me to be theirs forever. What I thought would be a year I didn’t want to reflect on ended in an unexpectedly special way.

I’m heading into 2026 optimistic, grounded, and ready to take on whatever comes next.

Here comes the sun 🌕 → ☀️

It's been a busy year, and I haven't managed to go out and witness as many sunrises or sunsets as I usually do. I still watch them from home or while on the move.
Last week, seeing the moon grow fuller each night, I knew I had to photograph it. A 5 am alarm and a quick trip up the mountain paid off. Watching the moon set as the sun rose, I couldn't decide which way to look. 😍

As Highway 395 rushes past the wild horses of Washoe Valley every day, the hum fades if you pause and watch them long enough. The herd moves slow and free, reminding us that not everything follows the pace of the world around us. 🧘‍♀️✨
