There’s nothing more special to me than having families come back year after year, through each new baby and every new chapter. 🤍

This session felt extra special because our very first session together was several years ago, when they were expecting their first baby. And now, here we are documenting this beautiful season with their growing family. 🥹

To make it even more meaningful, Avon Gardens is where they got married, so this place already holds such a special place in their story.

It’s pretty amazing to look back and see just how much has changed since that very first session… and somehow, how much has stayed the same. 🤍

Family fun in the studio for Sienna’s sitter session! The sitting up milestone session usually occurs between 6-9 months when your baby is able to sit up independently.

This milestone is so fun to capture as your baby is really starting to express their personality! You are truly the center of their whole world at this stage, so we get lots of smiles, giggles and cuddles.

One thing that’s great about this milestone that a lot of people don’t think about is that they usually aren’t fully mobile yet, so they love to be held and sit in your lap.

Experienced parents know that all of this will change in a few short months as they progress to crawling and waking and really want to explore the world around them — that’s when they become toddlers and sessions start to feel more like a workout chasing them around! 😂

But this is seriously the sweetest stage, and I highly recommend booking a studio session to capture all the baby adorableness 🤍

At the beginning of 2026, I chose Artist as my word for the year.

As photographers, it’s easy to get caught up in the business side of what we do… the emails, editing, marketing, and endless to-do lists. This year, I wanted to intentionally make space to create. To slow down, experiment, and continue growing as an artist.

Last week, I had the opportunity to spend a few days at a retreat in Middleburg, Virginia, surrounded by an incredibly talented group of photographers and led by the amazing Danielle - DC & VA Newborn Photographer . It was a few days of creating simply for the joy of it, learning from one another, and finding inspiration in the quiet moments.

This retreat has become a tradition I look forward to every year. It’s difficult to put into words what these days mean to me, but I always leave feeling creatively recharged and deeply grateful for this community, for the chance to keep learning, and for the privilege of doing work that I truly love.
