Six years without Andy. I can’t imagine how a mother ever learns to live with that kind of loss.
Andy was a Green Beret, a father, a son, and a man who gave so much of himself in service to others, all while carrying wounds no one could see.
It breaks my heart to think of how many of our veterans suffer in silence. We call them heroes, but are we doing enough to care for them when they come home?
My dear friend KM and her family have turned their unimaginable loss into Andy’s Fund, helping Green Berets and their families get the mental health care and support they deserve.
I wish this fund never had to exist. I wish Andy were still here. But if his story can save even one life and spare another family this heartbreak, what a beautiful legacy.
