I’m still holding on to summer, even though the calendar keeps reminding me how quickly the days are flying by. 😭

For now, I’m making the most of everything this season has to offer, especially fresh, juicy, Georgia peaches. Some recent recipes include peaches and cream waffles, peach cobbler Bundt cake, and a bakery style peach muffin. And honestly I could not choose a favorite!

One of my favorite things about cooking seasonally is discovering new ways to use fresh produce beyond desserts. Peaches might be known for cobblers and crisps, but don’t overlook them in savory dishes. They add the perfect touch of sweetness to balances herbs, chicken and a rich pan sauce.

I started with a recipe from Julia’s Album and made a few tweaks along the way, and I turned it into a dinner my family will be asking for again.

I never expected one of my favorite peach recipes this summer to be savory... but these Bourbon Balsamic Peach Pork Chops completely changed my mind. 🍑🥩

When peaches are at their peak, it’s easy to think cobblers, crisps, and pies. But I love taking seasonal ingredients and giving them an unexpected twist. The sweetness of ripe peaches paired with the richness of bourbon, tangy balsamic, and perfectly seared pork chops is one of those combinations that just works.

This has easily been the highlight of my peach culinary journey so far, and it’s a reminder that seasonal produce can shine in so many different ways.

🍑 Seasonal Stories | Georgia Peaches

One of the things I’ve grown to appreciate is how much our food tells the story of a season.

Living in the Midwest means we don’t always have easy access to every fruit at its peak. That’s why I was so excited when The Fruit Truck brought fresh Georgia peaches to our area. Sweet, juicy, and picked at the perfect time—they deserved something simple that let them shine.

So instead of an elaborate recipe, I paired them with creamy burrata, prosciutto, fresh basil, a drizzle of honey, and toasted sourdough. Sometimes the best recipes are the ones that let great ingredients do all the work.

As I continue sharing here, you’ll see more than just food photography. I want to celebrate the farmers, growers, makers, and small businesses that make seasonal cooking possible. Because every ingredient has a story worth telling.

Every season has a moment that feels worth slowing down for.
Right now, it’s peaches.

The soft fuzz, the vibrant color, the sweet aroma that fills the kitchen before the first slice is even made. Before they become cobblers, galettes, pancakes, or ice cream, they’re already beautiful all on their own.

This is why I love creating with seasonal ingredients. They remind us that some of the best flavors only come around once a year.

Summer on toast. 🍑🍒

One of my favorite parts of this season is visiting local farms and farmers markets, then turning fresh ingredients into something beautiful. There’s just something different about produce in the summer. Every color feels brighter, every bite is sweeter, and every photo tells a story.

This sourdough toast is layered with creamy cheese, peppery arugula, juicy peaches, sweet cherries, fresh blackberries, and a drizzle of honey…proof that simple ingredients can create something unforgettable.
