Photoccasions Plus

She was always looking for people to pose for her. After high school, she studied photography through adult education classes in Newark, Ohio. She also majored in Photography at Columbus State Community College and transferred to Seattle Film Works where she graduated with an Advanced Photography Certificate. She started Kat's Print Photography in 1994 as a portable studio. She has also worked for

PCA, Olan Mills, Lifetouch, Glamour Shots, and Dreamprints Photography. Her Aunt, Diana, loved nature and loved to capture it through her lens. She loved photography and started taking classes through the mail to earn a certificate in photography,
She also had an amazing talent for throwing parties and organizing events. She stared a small party planning company, Occasions on a Budget. In 1998 Kat and Diana talked about joining forces and offering the customer more for less. Together they formed, Newell's Photoccasions Plus. Diana use to joke, "Kathy is the talent, I am the brains and the button pusher"
Newell's Photoccasions Plus was more than a portrait studio, they also were wedding planners & all special event organizers. It was always Diana's dream to be a one stop shop. In February of 2007 Diana passed away from complications from a car accident in January. Kat took some time off of photography only doing shoots for friends and family here and there. Kat has made the announcement that she will be re-opening Photoccasions Plus as it was intended! With some help from some friends & family in the business, she is planning on opening up not only as an onsite studio, but also as event planners and wedding organizers.
