A moment left behind, exactly as it was.

A cup of coffee, a half-eaten blueberry muffin, set down without ceremony in the middle of work still unfolding. Phillip Glashoff’s studio was often chaotic, not from neglect, but from brilliance in motion—ideas moving faster than order, hands moving faster than pause. This small, unremarkable scene holds his presence more honestly than any portrait.

The creative mind that filled this space is now at rest.

Just before sunrise, they were already there — belonging quietly to the moment before everything begins.

Captured January 1, 2022, at Capitola Beach, CA.

This Tamron lens isn’t fancy or expensive, but it’s proof that with good light, patience, and a bit of care, you can make solid images without top-shelf gear.

It’s the kind of car that stops you mid-step — a 1939 Ford Woodie at Blackhawk Museum, rebuilt from nostalgia and nerve. I knelt low to catch the reflection of what was and what has been reimagined.

Shot low to hold the reflections front to back. The museum lighting pushed my Auto ISO to 8000, and rather than lower it manually, I used exposure compensation to prevent clipping. Sometimes “good-enough ISO” beats “missed moment.”

This ’39 Ford Woodie doesn’t whisper about the past; it glows with it. Every curve says someone still believes beauty deserves a little noise. Captured at the Blackhawk Museum — a flash of yesterday, rebuilt for now.

Same car, new angle. The museum doesn’t allow tripods, so both images were handheld. I’ve learned through trial and error that 1/60 sec is my personal threshold — anything slower and sharpness slips away. Someone else might hold steadier. Knowing your own limits is part of the craft.
