Little change over here.

Golden Ray Photography is now Golden Ray Studio.

Photography is still my main thing, but art in general and filmmaking have been passions of mine for a long time. I wanted a name that gives me room to grow and explore more than just photography.

I’m not a professional in digital design or videography, but I want to learn. I’d really love to figure out short films this year along with exploring lots of other forms of art and seeing where it all takes me.

So for now, same business, same me, just a name that gives me more room to create.

Because sometimes photos at 9 a.m. at the local park are everything you need.
I can make your session as fancy or as casual as your family needs it to be. Your kid can hit the slide, run a few laps, take a break when they need one—and then run back in for the family photo.
Family photos don’t have to mean standing still and smiling for an hour. Sometimes they just look like your actual family.

These photos are the result of my love for movies and photography finally coming together.
I struggle to find words big or deep enough to explain how fulfilling it is to my soul and spirit to photograph life in this style.
As a teenager, I imagined becoming a videographer. I felt deeply drawn to filmmaking—the sweeping wide shots that stretch across the trees, the way a scene without a single human subject can still reveal so much about a story, and the way stories can change the world in unexpected ways.
You know those quiet moments in movies when a character finally understands who they are and where they belong?

-Moana realizing that voyaging had always been a part of who she was.

-Mirabel discovering that she had always been the heart of her family.

-Elsa reaching Ahtohallan and finally understanding the truth about herself.

That deep feeling of, “This is who I was always meant to be.”

That is what creating photographs like these feels like to me.
Like all the things I have always loved—storytelling, movies, emotion, human connection, and photography—have finally found their purpose and a place to inhabit.

For parents who love mini sessions but usually don’t book them, what’s the biggest thing holding you back? This can be about minis offered by any photographer—not just me.

A. Price
B. Date, time, or location
C. Worrying my child won’t cooperate
D. Waiting for a theme I really love
E. I’d rather save for a full session
F. Something else

You can just comment the letter, but I’d also love to know what would make minis feel more accessible for you.

Making professional photos accessible to families has always mattered to me. I’ve had to raise my prices over the years, but I’d love to find ways to offer more affordable options again.

For me as a mom, my answer is A. Back-to-school minis are adorable, but at $75–$100, I’m probably taking pictures in my backyard with a Dollar Tree sign. 😂

I’ve photographed a lot of families — big, small, and everything in between. Toddlers running wild, newborn feeds, all of it.
But this one felt different.
If home were a session, this would be it.
Because home isn’t a place… it’s people.
You could feel the love right away. The laughter, the ease, just being completely themselves.
Their joy and peace was contagious. Thank you allowing me to live in those moments with you, Ramos fam.
