5.14.23, the two year adoption anniversary of the best boy I could’ve ever asked for. 732 days of big puppy personality and husky hair on every article of clothing I own. Menace of the year, every year. The unbreakable bond that this 45lb of fluff has shown me in the last two years is something that I will carry with my well past his years.

I feel like self portraits are a little awkward for every photographer that I meet. In my case, it’s something about 1. being in front of the camera, and 2. quite literally looking myself in the eye/having my face stare back at me when I go to edit.

Wesley Morey was a New England man so full of charisma and quick witt. He was a businessman, history buff, bud light enthusiast, and perhaps the best home cook I have ever had the pleasure of dining with.
In my early teenage years, I expressed an interest and a growing passion for photography. Unbeknownst to me, my grandfather shared this admiration for the art. At family gatherings he would show me what was left of his camera collection, negatives, and darkroom prints, all while pointing, telling, and reliving stories of an earlier and simpler time. From his work with aerial photography in the Air Force, to taking pictures of my grandmother when they went on road trips and picnics.
After his passing in 2018, I inherited this very camera along with a handful of undeveloped rolls of film, a couple of other cameras, and countless memories attached to them.
Oh how I wish I could share my work and bounce ideas off of him now.
Rest easy and take care Papa, I’ll catch ya later ♥️
