About the Gallery:
At Altitude Gallery opened to the public in November of 2015. It is the only known gallery in the world to feature landscape aerial photography exclusively. The gallery occupies over 3000 square feet in the historic Wilson's Building in downtown Cape Charles, Virginia. The building, which dates to the 19th century, originally was a department store until it was left abandoned in
the early 1990's. In 2015 the buildings retail level was restored and renovated, and now is home to the gallery. The gallery currently represents the work of aerial landscape photographer Gordon Campbell (see: About the Artist below). All aerial photographs are printed on site using archival ChromaLuxe metal photo panels, another first in the gallery world. The vibrancy and dimensionality of Chromaluxe metal photo panels rival any photographic product. All print orders are printed and finished on site. About the Photographer:
Flying low and slow above America's coastline is where aerial landscape photographer Gordon Campbell feels at home. With only the sound of the engine pushing his light aircraft through the still air at speeds not much faster than a world class sprinter, Gordon Campbell captures the vibrancy, texture, dimension and fragility of our coastline in extreme detail. Over the past 10 years he has covered much of the eastern coastline of the United States with an emphasis on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, nearby barrier island system and Chesapeake Bay. Gordon lives in Cape Charles, Virginia with his wife Christine and daughters Charlotte and Clara. He owns and operates out of Campbell Field Airport (9VG) in Weirwood, Virginia during the summer season. FAQ's
How do I place an order? Online: use the Inquiry button at the bottom of the page to get information regarding a specific photo. Phone: Call us at (757) 394-9200 In Person: Visit the Gallery in Cape Charles, VA. How long does it take to receive a print? The printing process, packaging and shipping takes 10-14 days. Some images and sizes are in stock and can be shipped or picked up immediately. Why do you print on metal panels? There is simply no comparison between ChromaLuxe Metal Panel Prints and traditional silver based photo papers or digital prints on paper and canvas. The vibrancy and dimensionality is far superior and stability testing show that ChromaLuxe Metal Panel Prints are 2 to 4 times more stable than traditional silver based photo papers. The addition of a float frame that floats the image off the wall makes for a clean modern look and an image that is ready to hang with no requirement for additional framing and glass covering the print surface. All images can be printed in the following sizes (in inches): 12x18, 16x24, 20x30, 24x36, 30x45, 40x60.
