We just got Henry J’s EmbarkVet DNA results back. I identified 3 of them correctly- goes to prove visuals aren’t the whole story.

This Supermutt instance is described as a combo of Labrador, Greyhound and American Staffordshire terrier…just not enough of each to merit a specific breed callout. He should be an amazing hunting & outdoor companion.

One things for sure, he’s 100% Henry-riffic!

I finally got my phone back from Henry. My gosh that dog sure can yap! Nonetheless, I had a chance to work this in today,between homework, feeding, playtime, walks and rest.

This is stabilized, double-dyed boxelder Burl from Paul Finlayson. I paired it with the Celtic twist pen design to celebrate Celtic and Gaelic heritage.

Dad took me on a nature trail at Hickory Log Creek Reservoir last night to experience new territory.

Saw a buck leap over our trail and I sniffed for him a bit. Good smells!

I’m testing out a back pack to help me feel like I’m working. This one looks cool but I’m still playing with the weight balance so it stops shifting around on me. I can carry my extra leash, p**p bags and my water bottle.

I’ve figured out how to jump into and out of the Jeep.

But I mostly like being in a place that’s safe and calm where I can take lots of naps.

Trust is the building block of any hopeful human / animal bond. 🐾

It’s my opinion nature has its own language that humans aren’t required to speak, but rather learn to interpret through non-verbal communication, signals and posturing.

The TLDR-

Zig Ziglar said, “Success is when preparation meets opportunity.

1. Dexter (aka Coffee Cat) used to live with a Rottweiler and a Boxer/Great Dane mix.

2. Dexter still has his claws.

3. He’s not afraid to use said claws.

4. Henry is a Beta people please and responds readily to authoritative tones.

5. This came about after several moments of standing with Dexter, sitting in a chair for elevation and sitting on the floor with both of them.

6. The last step was holding Dexter upside down like cradling a baby in complete vulnerability so he could trust my judgement and Henry’s control. Henry sniffed away.

Henry got his personalized ID collar tag which holds an Apple AirTag. He’s also gotten a Freedom no-pull walking harness. First significant walk in the neighborhood, after settling in and meeting neighbors.

He’s a big fan of children and loves to army crawl to them for petting. A very gentle animal.

He’s crashed out now from all the excitement. And even though he’s sleeping, the antic continue. I mean, how can you sleep in that funky contortion?!
