I think we’ve convinced ourselves that family photos have to happen somewhere extraordinary…but what if the most beautiful place is simply the place your kids get to be kids everyday?

A few of my favorite frames from K & C's wedding day... on 35mm film.🎞️✨

Surrounded by their closest friends and family, they celebrated not the two of them, but as a beautifully blended family of eight. Six kids, so much love, and the kind of support that filled every corner of the day!

Before the wedding, instead of your usual engagement session, we celebrated with a family session. I spent the evening with them chasing the sunset, enjoying icecream filled waffle cones and cart wheels in the park. They are two of the kindest, most genuine people, with the sweetest kids and by the end of the wedding it didn't feel like | was leaving clients...it felt like I was saying goodbye to friends.🥹🫶🏻✨

Well… considering I literally just photographed them as an official family of FIVE 😭, I guess it’s about time I shared the maternity session first. 😆🫶🏻✨

Photographing The Reed’s is almost always anything but a traditional session and that’s exactly why I love it when they ask if I’ll capture the season of life they are in, no matter what that season looks like!!

This time it included just a garden hose, bright red rain boots, soaking wet clothes, belly laughs, and a whole lot of embracing the chaos before baby sister arrived!

“Out of the box” creative sessions will forever have my heart because they tell the story of your family exactly as you are…not who you think you need to be!🫶🏻✨

Some moments on a wedding day feel bigger than the timeline they’re written into...

Before E’s first look with her father, she read him a letter in which she shared that she had his last name, her maiden name, tattooed on her arm. A permanent reminder of where she came from, the man who helped shape her, and the legacy she carries with her long after the wedding day is over.

And that’s what makes photographs like these matter.

Years from now, the dress will be packed away. The flowers will fade. The details that once felt so important will blur around the edges. But the feeling of that moment, the way tears built up as she read that letter, the pride in his eyes, the weight of generations standing quietly between them will remain.

That’s the thing about legacy, it isn’t built in grand gestures alone. It’s built in the stories we pass down, the names we carry, the lessons we inherit, and the people who leave pieces of themselves in us. 🥹🫶🏻✨

This is why I believe wedding photographs are more than just images. They’re proof. Proof that these moments happened. Proof that they mattered. Proof that love leaves a mark long after the day itself becomes a memory.

And if we’re lucky, those memories become part of someone else’s story someday, too. 🤍✨

Pride is not limited to rainbow logos, June celebrations, or a single social media post.

Pride is showing up for the LGBTQ+ community every day. It's creating spaces where people feel safe, seen, respected, and celebrated for exactly who they are. It's speaking up when it matters, listening when it's needed, and standing with a community that continues to fight for equality, dignity, and human rights, AND voting for politicians and policies that do the same.

As a decent human being, I believe everyone deserves to have their story honored, their love celebrated, and their identity respected. Not just in June but,

every. single. damn. day. of every. year.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Before their engagement session, when I asked Kellen & Jack to describe their love story she said it’s one “that feels grounded in history, laughter and a true sense of home”.🥹✨

From being childhood best friends to spending an evening as fiancés in the gardens and inviting me in to not only capture this season of life, but showcase the friendship that is the foundation of their relationship, is truly something special! I’m counting down the days until I get to capture their wedding this October… I know it’s going to be such a beautiful one! 🤍✨

Most couples go for the dip + kiss down the aisle… and don’t get me wrong, it’s classic for a reason.

But Emily & Will?
They ran straight into their people, high-fives, laughter, that pure “just-married” energy.

And honestly… this is what I mean when I say your day doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s.

There’s no “right” way to walk back down the aisle.
No pose you have to hit.
No moment you need to recreate.

The best photos, the ones that actually mean something years from now…come from doing what feels natural to you!

From leaning into your personalities, your relationships, YOUR kind of joy.

So if that looks like a kiss, do it. But if it looks like sprinting into your guests with the biggest grin on your face… please do that instead. 🙌🏻🤩✨
