It’s back-to-school week for so many of my recent seniors (and my own kiddos, too 🥹). And whether you’re taking your little one to popsicles on the playground to meet their new teacher or watching your senior drive off for their last first day ever, it’s all emotional in its own way.

Because no matter what chapter they’re in, you’re still their parent watching them grow up—and somehow, every new beginning makes you wish you could slow it all down just a little.

I just had to share a little peek at this gorgeous senior session I'm working through—she looks like she just stepped out of a literal fairytale. ✨

A day late for Senior Sunday because this weekend was an absolute whirlwind and jam-packed… but I promise these session sneaks are THAT good and totally worth the wait.

I also have a full week of shoots ahead, while still working through proofing galleries and final galleries from the past few weeks. On top of that, I’m currently receiving about 5x my usual number of daily inquiries for fall sessions! 🍂

So, if you’re waiting on an email response from me, I promise I haven’t forgotten about you! I’m working my way through everything as quickly as I can while still making sure I’m giving each client the time and attention they deserve. Thank you SO much for your patience!

If you're anything like me, your love for photography probably started with your own children. Before the client galleries, the booking calendar, and the endless editing queue, there were tiny hands, sleepy newborn stretches, messy faces, and all those little moments you couldn't bear to forget. They were the reason you picked up your camera in the first place.

But somewhere along the way, it's so easy to become consumed with documenting everyone else's memories while promising yourself, "I'll photograph my own kids when things slow down." The truth is, another busy season always seems to be waiting around the corner.

Years from now, your children won't remember how many sessions you fit into your calendar or how quickly you turned around galleries. What they'll treasure are the photographs you made of them—the ones hanging on your walls, tucked into albums, and the ones where you stepped in front of the camera, too.

We know better than anyone that these moments don't last forever. Let's make sure we're preserving them for the people who inspired us to fall in love with photography in the first place.
