What does an EPIC session look like? Sometimes, I get to take my clients on an adventure and create some action-packed memories. These brothers, Nickola and Stefan Kulikov, wanted to take their senior portraits together somewhere we could see Mt. Hood in the background.

This location is iconic for us who live in the Portland area. This October day was one of the coldest days I have ever photographed! It was accompanied by a freezing wind that did not let up! We laugh about it now! Mom would run out and watch for a couple of minutes and then run back to the car to warm up for 30 minutes. These boys were such good sports and hard core. We stuck it out, froze our tushies, toes, fingers, faces, noses, ears off, you name it, LOL... good times! I love how each of their images are unique to them. Might have a little wind-blown look to them but they're REAL! I was hoping for glassy water but we got choppy. And the images look pretty cool!

Life, you can make plans all you want and get something totally unexpected;).

Stefan had a cool cowboy vibe. He has a more serious nature, attention to detail guy and has a nice watch collection. Nickola was a little more laid-back, playful, humorous and kept us laughing. They wanted some bro. poses too. Love that!

Our final age category, "8 to 13 years old!"

1st Place goes to #1 Norah. She was so happy to be here, had such sparkling eyes and a bright smile. This was her first professional photo session experience and she loved every minute of it. Norah was also a consistent favorite with the judges. She'll be receiving a 16x20 canvas wrap.

Our 2nd place winner is #66 Jonah. He literally cracks me up every year. Jonah has so much personality! Yes, if you look closely, that is a chick on his head and he's looking up at it. He'll be receiving an 11x14 canvas portrait.

Our 3rd place winner is #33 Avery who looked so confident and grown up with her huge smile and floral dress, matching bow and jean jacket. She'll be receiving an 8x10 canvas wrap. We also have 2 honorable mentions. The first is #70 Aaliya so sweet and beautiful, looking down at the chick. Second is #81 Kiril who looked so cool, handsome and so grown up. They'll both be receiving an 8x10 deluxe portrait.

It's such an honor to photograph your kiddos and capture them as they are, in this time of their lives. They are all special and beautiful! Hope to see you all again next year.

Judges results for the "5 to 7 years old" age group.

Our Grand Prize winner is #8 Elladiy who was chosen by almost every single judge (I had 12 judges) and got the most points. A clean sweep across the board. He looks like the perfect advertisement for John Deere tractors! Elladiy was so confident and happy to be able to bring in his own tractor. He drove it into my studio like a BOSS! He's never won and his older siblings have won several times and they didn't this year. Elladiy will receive a 16x20 canvas wrap and bragging rights;).

Our 1st place winner is #72 Aviree who was so poised and confident with her beautiful smile. She will also receive a 16x20 canvas wrap. Our 2nd place winner is #12 Fiona with the shoulder scrunch, missing 2 front teeth smile and pink cowgirl boots. She was literally 1 point from 1st place. That's how close it was! She will receive an 11x14 canvas wrap. Our 3rd place winner is #83 Yermiel sitting there so chill with the chick that fell asleep on his shoulder, so darling! For our Honorable Mention #50 Cyana with her flower tiara and cowgirl boots. She will receive a deluxe 8x10 portrait. Finally, my second Photographer's Choice award goes to #29 Anthony, the happiest looking farmer and his cat there ever was! His cat might not have been so thrilled to be there, LOL. He had such a cool hairdo;). He will receive a 12x18 canvas wrap.

Results for the "2 to 4 years old age group." This was our largest group.

In 1st place we have #25 Zinon loving on that chick! He will receive a 16x20 canvas wrap. In 2nd place, we have #35 Dean with his cute curly hair and big smile. He will receive an 11x14 canvas wrap. Our 3rd place winner is #28 Kingston posing like a little model. He will get an 8x10 canvas wrap. We have 2 honorable mentions, #71 Aurora with all her joy and #103 Stetson the cutest little bare-chested cowboy! They will each receive a deluxe 8x10 portrait. I'm also awarding 2 Photographer's Choice Awards this year. I am giving one to #18 Nona, sweet, shy and so precious. She will receive a 12x18 canvas wrap.

The Cute Kid Contest results are in!!! All the judges have expressed how difficult it was to choose favorites because each child is CUTE in their own way. However, this is just the cherry on top for this contest, not the only reason we do this. I love giving away portraits and prizes:). I am giving even more this year.

I will post each age category separately, starting with our youngest group, the "Newborn to 2 years."

1st place winner is #77 Alexandra who was so excited to hold that chickie! She will receive a 16x20 inch canvas wrap. The chick did survive;)! No chicks or ducklings were harmed, though it may look like it in some images LOL. Our 2nd place winner is #26 - Harper at 10 months with the cutest rolls ever! She will receive an 11x14 canvas wrap. We had a tie for 3rd place with #36 Wynona age 7 weeks and #63 Makari who was thrilled about holding the eggs;). Life is about the little things. They will both receive an 8x10 canvas wrap. For "Honorable Mention" we have #69 Isaiah with his adorable surprise face and big expression. Honorable mention means they came in 4th or fifth by a point or 2. He will receive a deluxe 8x10 portrait.

Day 6 highlights from the Cute Kid and Baby contest! These are moments never to be forgotten;). Capturing these children, whether it's their first professional photo session or they're finally teenagers and aging out of the contest, it's priceless. Several teens still wanted their photo session and to hold a chick or duckling. Some children brought their own pet and that made it extra special for them.

The Cute Kid Contest is a family tradition for some families and they look forward to their yearly photo session. Hopefully, each child felt special and beautiful. This is WHY I keep doing this. Posing children and poultry was next level, though! These kiddos are so precious and it's been my honor to photograph them this year. The last couple of judges are sending in their results. I will be announcing winners tomorrow!

Here are a few of my favorite moments from day 4! Such cute kids and so much personality! I love seeing the sibling interactions and the confidence-building. My cute ducklings and chicks are worth their weight in gold;). They sure have brought lots of smiles! I'm enjoying seeing some of these kids grow up! Each is so precious.
