Had an awesome senior shoot with Ella using the Kase 150mm f5.6 mirror reflex lens on a Nikon Zfc for some of the session. I love the paint like quality of the out of focus areas with this lens.

On my trip down to Florida, I knew I wanted to get out and shoot with my good friend Scott Dere. I wanted to travel light though with the political climate the way it is and the difficulties at the airport. I decided to take my Nikon Zfc and the 24-200mm Z lens along with a handful of Viltrox primes. I knew the 24-200mm would limit my reach and f-stop to get the exceptional wildlife photos in my mind. Challenge accepted! I wanted to see what I could accomplish with a consumer level lens and camera set up.

I met Scott at Peaceful Waters Sanctuary in Wellington, Florida. It's a small wetland inside a recreational park, easily missable unless you know it's there. There were dozens of different types of birds, rabbits, lizards and even a family of otters. I immediately became frustrated with the speed and reach of my set up, but I knew going in that this was the challenge. Chimping at the back of the camera, I was disappointed with the results until I got them back to the computer at the studio. While I don't think I got magazine quality shots, I was more than happy with the final result, but more important was the time with a good friend.
